OMG, just seen the first IS figure: 1/10 Houki Shinonono Complete Figure [Media Factory]
Just seen this: http://www.amiami.jp/shop/?set=engli...e_display.html Also at HLJ: https://secure.hlj.com/product/MDF10431 There is also these: http://www.amiami.jp/shop/?set=engli...e_display.html Yay, there is also new Bamboo Blade figures: https://secure.hlj.com/product/CLY30142 and lastly there is a new Freezing figure: https://secure.hlj.com/product/MDF10517 Not really a fan of the Freezing figure... too naked for me, be nice to see one in their uniforms and weapon. I love Bamboo Blade but the figure doesn't really do much for me as well and £68 (GPB) is way too high for that figure, it's too basic. Hmm, some nice figures all together but expensive to keep up. :s Well, I Pre-ordered the 1/10 Houki Shinonono Complete Figure from HLJ. Ugh, dread to think what else is coming... am finding it hard to resist clicking that Pre-order button.

http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljlist?SeriesID=4329&Dis=2 What is annoying is that they have 4 of the girls in stock but Kureha is discontinued as well as Kanata standing up. MyAnimeFigure... doesn't even have a listing for So Ro No Wo To or Sora No Woto how ever it pleases you to spell it. Been looking at other sites too, can't seem to find many.

Just seen something that really excited me over at Amiami.jp. Sorano Otoshimono f (forte) 1/6 Nymph Complete Figure [Plum] Amiami.jp/Item Not bad for 5,450 yen, but am going to wait a little and hope she ends up on Hobby Frontier or at HLJ before I Pre-order her. Starting to worry about the P&P now, since I have few Pre-orders at these two websites. Does anyone know why Anime towels are so bloody expensive? It's like they all cost around £50-60 (GBP) each, I think that's crazy. Shouldn't cost no more then £20 or £30 (GBP) :/

That majorly sucks, it was so beautifully made. And it's rare when you get a good figurine of a cute girl in military uniform that is actually modest. Let me guess why: low BD sales, huh? Many of us would buy an excellent figurine even if we aren't fans of a series, but it seems we're in the tiny minority. |

Sik-07, I really like the 3 girls on the left of that picture, the girl infront and two at the back.
My small collection is going to be this below. I put in a Pre-order for the 1/6 Nymph PVC figure today. Yagyu Jubei 1/7 Miku Hatsune Tony Ver. PVC Vocaloid EX Figure: Luka Megurine Sanada Yukimura Version 2.0 Goto Matabei 1/8 Tenshi PVC figma Kirino Kousaka 1/10 Houki Shinonono 1/6 Nymph PVC The Yagyu Jubie was my first figure to arrive and for me to hold and open, but she was the second figure that I brought. The Hatsune Miku and Luka Megurine was the first. Then came Sanada and Goto and the others followed soon after. I'm hoping to order 1/8 Yuri PVC from HLJ in March. Also would like the Sore No Woto figures from HLJ. Lastly am on the look out for the ARIA figures, really want them but they cost an easy £100+ each. Buying my display case tomorrow so everything should be set!

I'm quite stuck right now.
If you can't tell by my presence here, I'm an avid anime fan. There's nothing anime I don't truly hate, besides occasional thing. So, what would be stopping me from buying an anime figurine/figma/nendoroid/etc right now? Well, a couple things: 1) What do I do with them? 2) They seem to be quite expensive 3) Parents would find it pointless I sometimes feel like I really want one, just one at the very least, yet I always forget about it. What is it about these figures that makes people buy them? Collectibles, just for the shelf? That's all I can think of, yet for some reason I feel I want one. I don't get it. Unless I can find something more to it than becoming a nick-knack, I don't see any point in getting one, no matter my desire. Can someone help me resolve this? Is there anything better about them that I'm missing? Do they sell for considerably more later on? HELP.

Well, I don't know about why anyone else buys them, but I can say why I do.
It's pretty simple for the statues. I like things that either look completely bad-ass, or really cute. That's it. No real point other than I like the way they look. I don't really think much a of a point is necessary, either. I mean, do people really have a specific "point" in mind when they hang a painting on the wall, other than it looking good? The figmas / revoltech / other posable figure types are little different, because I'll set up small light studios and take pictures of them in "scenes" and post them in my web galleries. Yeah, I guess that seems a little obsessive, but it's fun, and it's similar to drawing (in a way). Of course, even that's just playing around, I suppose, so it's just me having fun. I don't ever really think about how much they're going to be worth later on, like collectibles, or anything. I figure if I wanted an investment, I'd by stocks and bonds, not toys and dolls. |

You could argue that they can appreciate in value (only certain figures, really) so it's a valid collection. At least two of my figures are worth 3x what I paid for them now. Possibly more, depends on buyers etc.
Or you can just tell them it's figures or crack cocaine. Their choice. |

I won't be buying one anytime soon, unless some magical sale shows up selling them at less than 30 dollars. At least an armored core model dedicates seven straight hours of my life to building it (which I enjoy). It even costs less. I think I'll stick with the mecha collection.
