What I meant to say was something like this: since they had thos 3 captains defect it can be excused if they are now a little wary and more cauitous in their judgment of other people.

And I meant that since this arc takes place in a different continuity, there's a possibility that those 3 Captains didn't defect. They could've died, or maybe not even have been there in the first place.

Parallel universes can be crazy. Bearded Spock and all.

Yup, alternate storylines... can be fantastic but can also be mind-numbingly wrong.
I would have preferred if they had found a way to integrate these anime original stuff into the storyline (like Bounto arc).

I somehow got the feeling that Aizen and company left for HM in this timeline as well.
Not sure if they explicitely mention it, but they weren't in the captain's meeting and seeing what Kira goes through it appears as if at least that part of the storyline stayed.
