Are there any easy ways to compare shipping/prices with other shops?
I haven't seen any increase in shipping prices as the prices are still the same as they were a few months (and even years) ago(although it might be that your friend might've mistaken their addition of a tracking option on SAL shipping as a increase in prices as it's only a separate option).

I still frequently order from cdjapan and i haven't noticed a shipping price increase when it comes to cd's though.

The delivery speed depends on SAL (that's the risk that you are taking when you are paying for a lower price) and the season. In november and december you should expect that SAL will be slower than usual due to the holiday seasons.

Don't know where to ask this so i thought i give it a try here. So since Bandai won't be releasing the rest of the Gundam Unicorn series in America i'm forced to look for other options. Glad UC 5 has been posted so it helps with my search. I have used CDJapan in the past and noticed it was up for pre-order. The thing is that i saw it on AmazaonJapan at a lower price. The problem is i've never ordered from AmazonJapan before and also i'm not familiar with their shipping rates. Was wondering if anyone can help me. Or at least someone can enlighten me about AmazonJapan's shipping rates and quality.

Are there any Pay Per View sites? I move around a lot. I've thrown away over 70 pieces of my own paintings/art projects simply because they were a burden to keep around. I throw out practically anything that I wouldn't use on a daily basis.

Ordering DVDs is simply out of the question.

I found a website that sells anime dvd for cheap prices, but I'm not sure if the site is legit or not. Everything appears to be as I have ordered a dvd coming from the same country and official seal, through ebay though, and I was pleased w/ the product. I wanted to hear what you all thought b/c I don't know any really good places to buy anime dvds. I checked amazon out, but they want so much for their dvds when compared to this site. I'm usually very pleased w/ amazon, but not w/ anime dvds. Anyway, let me know what you all think. I've posted the site below. Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for CG illustration technique books that deal with scenery (particular emphasis on skies). I have plenty of character illustration books, but none for this kinda stuff. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I can't recommend anything about that but I need recommendation from you. Are the character illustration books you mentioned the technique books such as coloring technique? I am trying to learn CG coloring so can you give me a few names?

It depends on what program you use I guess. Most books give tutorials in a variety of programs, but there are some which focus on particular ones such as SAI or PS so it's good for you to look around.

Also a healthy dose of JP proficiency is recommended as some of the explanations are quite technical and you'll find it hard to know what's going from the illustrations alone.

Of course the tutorials are by different artists, with their own varying styles. Since I don't know what you're after, it's kinda difficult to recommend anything. If you want to provide more information I could try and recommend you things which are hopefully more relevant, or do you just want me to throw out titles?

(Also, still looking for scenery stuff c: )

I am using both PS and SAI but I lean more towards PS (still practicing in SAI).

As for what I'm after, do you know about that artist named Kantoku? I'm trying to learn his hairstyle coloring style. I guess that could mean I'm looking for hair coloring instruction in general. And clothing coloring is also welcomed.

And don't worry about the Japanese part, I can manage to understand as long as there are illustrations. Been doing this for quite a while using a book borrowed from my friend.

^I thought I'd better post this (they are the US arm of united publications in the UK) since they've just started listing Australian releases that aren't available in the states or have gone out of print.

How the hell does one buy doujinshi online anymore, unless they are from the US? I used to buy all my books from ebay, but now when I try to view them I get an error ;

You are not allowed to access this page

warning
Sorry, you are not allowed to view, sell, bid on or purchase items in the Adult Only category.Due to restrictions regarding the sale of pornography over the Internet, access to listings in the Adult Only category has been restricted.

What the hell is this? What kind of censoring is this? Why would they limit Adult Only items for US only? That makes no sense.. The doujinshi sellers are only in the US site too, so I can't get them from another ebay like UK.

I know there are delivery services where they buy books to you from JP sites and then send them to you, but that option is really expensive :/

^First, linking to a site like that will only get you in trouble. Secondly, I was looking to BUY doujinshis. You do see that this thread is called Where do I buy instead of Where do I download?

I am well aware that the internet is full of porn and I have no trouble obtaining it if the need arises. Still, I would rather obtain and collect them as a real books rather than just digital copies on my computer.

Because you're linking to a hentai site? I could not click the link as I was not at home, but it seems at least they give a warning of the adult material before you enter .. Still not sure if that's allowed.

And I have my doubts about the legitimacy of that site. The net is full of sites that sell content that can be bought officially from elsewhere or are even free at the net. Ex. Most hentai sites sell videos that are just '' stolen '' fansubbed Hentai.

Regardless, I talked about BOOKS in my post. That already should give you the idea that I want physical copies of doujinshi. All doujinshi I am interested in I can surely find online FOR FREE without paying for bits and bytes, but I do prefer to own something physical.

With that said, does anyone have an ACTUAL SHOP that sells REAL doujinshis?
