If that's the case, then all I can say is that it's about *****ing time. Don't get me wrong, I like the series and all. However it was starting to feel like the series was "afraid" to err I guess the best way to put it is let the story begin.
In any case, there's a lot to speculate about the next episode. All I know is I'm hoping for characters to be involved in the story such as Kuroko and not just there for the purpose of a joke scene.

i knew i heard thet voice in another wicked character, anyhow this was a great episode, the animation was just....perfect, i think the animation of this episode exceeds any of S1 or S2, the pacing was great, it felt good directed, this episode revived my decaying love for the anime.

In other news, the city lights and rain droplets were beyond brilliant! And it looks like the insane quality would carry on to the next episode!

Curfew, most of the students (which make up 80% of the population) are in their dorms during this time, all the adults well- You've seen what happened to those Anti-Skill soldiers.
You should have noticed that Academy City was always desolate at night.

The religion side invokes a similar reaction from any theologians... I'm sure the various Churches would *love* the level of power shown here. Also, you are more likely to come across said magic than you are a hot nun.
Mechanical/factual realism is not one of To Aru's strong points, but this isn't a problem since the excellent setting and characters make it easy to accept.

I'm pretty sure Kihara would have beaten him up even if he was at full power. This is the person who raised and developed Accelerator's ability, which means he knows every single little thing about him and how to counter his attacks. He knows precisely how long Accelerator's AIM field extends to and is able to pull his fist back with insane timing at the right moment so that the force hits Accelerator instead of being redirected towards him. This is a feat impossible for anyone else, and normal people still won't stand a chance against Accelerator if they decide to cross him.

And you shouldn't ignore the Hound Dogs he killed before Kihara made his entrance. They were fully armed and Accelerator still tore through them like they were nothing. The anime didn't even show completely how brutal he was in doing so.

A black minivan busts through at high speed and slams into Accelerator's body.
It was a rear attack.
What he's standing on was a footpath demarcated from the driveway.
Separating the driveway from the footpath was a massive guardrail.
But,
The jet black minivan busted through that easily and drove into the footpath where Accelerator was- without even braking. The splinters of the van's lights and bumper are scattered about, the finely shattered windshield making a sound like azuki beans being scattered. The finely cut iron plates of the guardrail fly about in mid-air and slam into the front shutters of a multiple-tenant building. One thunderous roar comes after another.
Quite the spot for ground zero of an explosion.
In there,
**Accelerator's very form peacefully stood there three seconds before.**
His hands were touching the side of his neck.
He *cricks* rings on his bone.
His thin fingers were touching a choker-type electrode ----- that control switch.
[Redirection] was activated.
Untouchable even when directly hit by a nuke, Academy City's strongest Level 5 reigns.
What...?
Accelerator turns around.
He gazes at the black minivan that came busting in.
As if it sustained a shell, a crater was made on the front middle iron plate. There, the center was crumpled and crushed, whether to call the obstacle wheels or wreckage seemingly in doubt.
Even though it's way past sunset, the front lights were turned off. The lights weren't destroyed at the moment of collision- they weren't lit up to begin with.
...Looks like their method's entirely on approaching from the rear undetected.
What's more, there were signs that the car plates were forcibly replaced, and even though the windshield took a smashing impact, there were no signs of airbags being activated. This black minivan must be a hot car in the first place; there ware traces of the door keyholes being pried open.
In short, well, there it is.
Investigating thoroughly, he found a completely black-clad man moaning in the wrecked driver's seat.
Wearing armored gear like those of special forces, his head was completely covered with a mask of the same color. Even his eyes were shown to be completely, totally hidden, thanks to bulky goggles similar to those used by skiers.
...You have a score against me? You eager to use me? You from a research institute? Which is which?
Accelerator's smile widens even further.
He sees the grip of a military-use pistol hanging from the chest of the driver, and he's getting very, very happy.
So you finally came. I thought you'd come. Damned idiot. A shitty-looking idiot out to *take me back*. A shitty bastard who doesn't read even the rules, mood, hints, and atmosphere.
Accelerator raises his face.
He looks up at the slightly higher-positioned driver's face, sweetly smiling.
"----- Beat, and KILL!"
*BOOM!!* the thunderous roar echoes across the dark street.
For an instant.
Accelerator's arm thrusts from the glassless windshield towards the driver's seat. His slender arms were absorbed, just like that, into the black-clad man's face- more accurately, into his mouth. Four fingers, from the little up to the index, plunge, just like that, into the inside of the man's mouth. Smashing down the dark stab-proofed mask, those pale hands penetrate all the way to the throat's insides. His remaining thumb presses up the jaw from below.
He pulls back his arm.
A *crack* sounds- the sound of a dislocated jaw.
"AHAHAGYAHAAHAHAHAHIHIHIGYAHAHAAHAAHAAHAHA!!"
Accelerator, with his tremendous smile, drags out the man's corpse from the driver's seat like a tuna on a fishing pole and throws it away towards his back, just like that. The black-clad's back, going over the footpath, slams without reserve into the shutters of the multiple-tenant building.
A thunderous *slam!!* roar explodes.
From the interior of the minivan's rear seat, a *hii* breathtaking-like sound is heard.
They're still around.
Accelerator's scarlet eyes squirm.
"Ooooh? This is fun. Ahaha. Hey, it's fun, I'm really crazy now, shitty bastards!!"
And from the glassless windshield, he assaults the inside of the minivan like a monster.
He pulls into pieces the passenger seats like weed, just like that, and tramples towards the back seat. The entire body ominously *bekibegobegin!!* shakes. It totally looks like metal and upholstery are evading Accelerator on their own. The entire frame must be getting warped; here and there, the sounds of bolts popping out and window glass shattering are occurring in succession, just like forcibly overinflating a steel balloon.
In the back seat, another man was still on board.
Before he could draw out his gun in haste, Accelerator grabs the black-clad's head and slams it directly backwards. *SLAM!* Along with that sound, the rear seat snaps, and the man's head sinks right into the cotton.
Only the *hyuu hyuu!!* noise from his throat echoes.
"Hahaha... Tch, dammit, I'm getting bored. The entertainment's gettin' stale. Even I'm no demon."
Accelerator laughs.
"Shiiit, I've had it with killing, it's too tiresome. Right now, I can grant you a 50-percent discount."
"Ah, eh..."
The seat cotton is getting into the man's mouth; his voice was unintelligible.
Even then, the black-clad man was desperately spinning his words.
"I'm tearing off 50 percent of your skin. And if you're still alive after that, I'll let you off!"
A *giiiii!!* bug shrieking-like sound reverberates.
Accelerator laughs.
With a face that looks enjoyed, delighted, mirthful, interested, and just had ice cream at the start of his diet.
And...
A *screech!!* road-scraping sound echoes as three black minivans abruptly stop and surround Accelerator. He gazes at their exteriors from the broken window. Are those hot cars, too? They must have taken the trouble of finding the same car make. His own mind takes pause.
"Boring."
Anyhow, the special 50-percent discount is over.
Accelerator grabs with his fingers the insect-like man's face like a basketball.
A *Whoom!* sound like a metal bat swinging echoes. From the glassless window, a black-clad corpse is carelessly and mercilessly thrown away.
The corpse skids along the top of the asphalt. Without even confirming the ludicrous state, the three minivans surrounding the wrecked minivan suddenly open up their sliding rear doors.
But no person comes out.
Poking out from the doors were countless gun muzzles.
Accelerator, having saw them, sighs and, at the same time, throws his fist into the ground to vent out that rage. The vector-controlled blow, under normal circumstances, deals fatal damage to the warped car frame, cracks come out on all sorts of plumbing, and sparks scatter towards them.
A *BOOM!!* blast and a heat wave scatter in all directions, engulfing the place around it.
Muffled screams come in succession from the three minivans. Even when inside the minivan, even when their faces are totally protected by masks, they take a wall of high-temperature wind at point-blank range. The end result is that some of them, burning up inside their throats, are writhing; others end up tumbling down onto the pavement from their opened sliding doors.
"Thank you for the show-- ----I thank you for your spectacular deaths!"
