Saikano is by far the saddest anime out there...
I also found Kanon, Air and Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien pretty sad.

yeah i second Fate stay night... i dont think it will make u cry but you will feel like crap for many days after you finish it... xD

Btw i dont suggest 5 centimeters per second...

Unlimited Blade Works route. I have never cried so hard during anything ever before. But yeah, the anime isn't really sad.
