Personally I'd like to see all possible strong characters in the final. It makes for a more interesting play where there is a 4 free for all game than when it becomes a 1v1 + the others.

Well it's the Nationals so the teams who make to the final, are sure to have a couple monster in there teams.

One thing I fear from the long farewell scene Tsuruga got in the last chapter combined with the fact that they don't appear in the latest episode is that we might not see them again till the regionals next year.

I hope not since i like Tsuruga team, episcally Yumi and Momo relationship and Momo jealous faces. I hope they don't disappear from the story hell i even be happy with if they just reactions from the Nationals games.

Just read chapter 64. Haha that announcer funny i love her, So 48 teams at Inter-High then wonder how many matchs until the final? Ryūmonbuchi Touka and Koromo are aswell Kazekoshi Mihoko and Kana wonder if the whole teams there? Hopefully Tsuruga are there two.

Next chapter out 21st may.

48 teams sounds... sort of odd. That would mean 12 matches in round 1, 3 in round 2... leaving only 3 teams for the final? Unless some teams get a pass for the first round?

I just had a sudden flash of inspiration as to what happened between Saki and Teru that caused their current situation now. So, I'm noting my guess here. When the truth comes, let's compare it.

The reason why Teru doesn't admit Saki as her little sis, is because of her great luck, superb control of the field and the ability to use the "rinshan" to her advantage.

Teru, as compared to her exceptional "blessed with luck" sister, may be the unluckiest person to play mahjong in the series.

All of Teru's tiles are mostly always closed to Juusanpotou (十三不塔). Which explains that in effect, the only kind of hand she can make is Kokushi Musou. We've seen several scenes in the anime from Saki that Kokushi Musou is her sis' tiles.

Three further points to add:

- This will explain why Saki is able to get +-0, including playing with her sister. If Teru will get shitty hands most of the time, Saki doesn't need to do much to get to +-0. If she realises she's gonna get Kokushi Musou, then Saki can just accept it and play catch-up later, as long as she doesn't deal directly into her hand.

- The reason why Teru is now first-up at Shiraitodai is because of her unique situation, which is why the rest of the team finds her "useless", and thus the kind of treatment she gets from their captain.

- Hajime commented in the last episode, that what they saw of the finals last year, that is basically talking about Teru, is that, what they say and realise that at that stage, it's not a matter of true ability or luck, it's something out of this world.

So, yeah, my point being Teru's luck = 0, Saki's luck = 255.

All Teru wants is to be able to throw a riichi stick out and tsumo on a pinfu.
