I get your idea, but somehow I don't think it really works.

Like Randrak previously mentioned, that would mostly result in a BAD END!
Just read the Itoshi no Kana manga yesterday and boy was it delicious and a much likely scenario of what Yuuko and Teiichi would be doing off-screen pretty soon after the anime end Those who enjoyed this anime should give that manga a read, it's only 3 volumes

Though I doubt it has as much staying power unlike the more popular shows...

Either way, more Yuuko sexiness is always a good thing. |

I wouldn't say it continues from the end of the anime since starting episodes 9 was almost completely anime original content. Even the first 8 episodes that were taken from the manga had some changes done. The anime also skipped many chapters since there's too much content to cover. I suggest reading it from the beginning so you can fully appreciate it.

Could finally watch it.
Nothing against a happy end, but I think, that this series would have been better without Yuuko appearing again. It kinda ruined the mood. Also it would leave an more emotional impact on the audience. That would have been a more fitting ending to this series. But again, nothing against it.

Well done. I guess they saved up for this final episode, it was the best looking out of all the others. I liked how emotional Yuuko's farewell scene became, though it did not end on that sad note. The insert song was very nice. The scene overall touched me. Looks like Yuuko earned a "license" to stay in the world longer, likely while Teiichi is still alive. Which could also mean she could leave the school grounds now, since her "unfinished business" is no longer there, but with Teiichi. Anyway, I'm a sucker for graceful happy endings so I can say that I really enjoyed this last episode. And I can now finally and completely lay to rest my dissatisfaction over earlier deviation with the manga because it ended so nicely.

I have to say this is one of my favorite if not my favorite manga adaptation of all time. The manga is full of expansive drama and extraneous plot. The adaptation picked the most important element in the manga and delivered it with laser focus and concisely and perfectly. Flawless victory Silver Link. Cheers. This is what every adaptation should be.

Even though the last few episodes were anime original, I thought the 2nd half of the series was where it had most of its strength. While the 1st half of the series was amusing with 5 2/3 episodes worth of antics and fanservice, it just felt like it was missing out on its potential.
The last episode was certainly moving up until where Yuuko "disappeared", and I would have said that things were executed perfectly had it stayed that way. I have to say that I didn't like the twist ending. I much would have preferred Kirie and Teiichi talking at the Kanoe family plot or their middle school graduation ceremony where it's clear that Teiichi still loves Yuuko but they're glad that Yuuko would be at peace now. As it is, I am tempted to downgrade the series to a 6/10 or a 7/10 just on how the ending just didn't quite jive with the rest of the episode. Up until this episode, I was still thinking this series was a 8/10 based on a very strong and emotional second half. |
