No, he just wants to research it. If my memory is correct, his father was obsessed with it's research so much that he neglected his family, and his mother left as a result. The guy just wants to know what exactly is so fascinating about the Holy Grail. And no, the Holy Grail isn't the one used by...Jesus, it's an artifact which was owned by Guinevere since the time when she's a goddess. And as it later turned out, the one from the British Museum was a fake--which led to the Black Prince hunting Guinevere and Lancelot for the real one. As for how a normal magician could defeat a campione, it's the same as the usage of the word of power by Erica and co. In one of the legends amongst magicians, there used to be a tyrannical campione in the past. In order to defeat him, a female magician seduced him and whilst they were kissing, she turned him into stone. By the way, I made an error, this legend was told in volume three, not four.

I sincerely hope Godou in the future have some additional authorities or able to release restriction like when he went berserk it will be great...

no this isnt godou's weapon. Gae Bulg incase u didnt know is a nasty nasty weapon in real mythology.
One stab => branched to many points and internaly stabs.
Its brutal beyond what godou is capable of using, and he'd rather use kusanagi's tsurugi if it was a choice of the lesser evils.

And incase u missed it Cour Delion, erica's sword is also known as the lance of loginus..
AKA the lance which killed GOD, and could pierce Athena in grown up form.
So he doesnt need another spear, as the spear which killed Jesus is much greater then Gae Bulg against any divinity, and is a ton lot cleaner.

Which leads me to assume, they repaired it, and then had ena try to send it back and failed.

And i think zzhk has told us, Ena is using it. So Godou obviously has lent it to her.

does her sword contain shards of the spear or it actually IS the spear that changed form?

thats why I want to know if Gae Bulg is present here, and I know the messy work it makes... BIG TIME. the Loginus is highly confirmed as god tier damage capable (dunno if there's myths for that spear) but if Gae Bulg has the same type of damage against a god, that would be the day.
