If she shouldered it on one site only it would be a lot less difficult and faster (grabbing something on your back is not very precise in all situations - even when you are trained to do it). If the belt was shorter she could easily use it to stabilize the weapon while holding it one handed in front of her and loading the magazine is easier this way, since the weapon is less likely to dangle around in the process (look at her arms she is not exactly strong).

Btw. my combat ready remark on the mag was meant in a broader way. In a combat situation, you can only load your weapon, if you did not loose your magazine while you hit the ground for cover. It might take a while to search for it.
