I thought it was pretty standard for Moribito... until the end of course, Tanda suddenly became 50000x cooler when he figured out how to get rid of the whatdoyoucallit. It was really nice. Even though I'm sure everyone found him a bit weird when he suddenly stuck his head into the river saying he could hear things... And also I must admit grinning at Barusa screaming to save Tanda when he was being flung around mercilessly.

#24 was another good one, especially toward the end. Altough I thought that Tanda acted like "AN HERO" there. Couldn't he just tell it really quickly to Barsa?

But still, that was a pretty awesome warcry right there. 8)

Yeah, I hope there isn't a Balsa x Chagum ending, although Chagum killing Tanda in a jealous fit would be one heck of a plot twist. :P

I think the possibility of Balsa getting injured is plausible enough, though I'm inclined to think one of the warriors dies instead. Most specifically, the one who has the most connection to Chagum, though I can't for the life of me remember his name. ><

You're thinking of Jin, the warrior who feels that he owes Chagum a debt of gratitude.

Hmm...for what is supposed to be an action-packed finale, there's a little bit too much talky-talky. And, "mutsugashii nippongo wakaranai" -- I have little to no idea what they talked about. Something about the moons affecting Chagum or the egg perhaps? Or something serious about the Rarunga? Guess I'll have to wait for the subs to find out. If the writing is good, it'll more than make up for the somewhat erratic pacing.

Tanda being heroic, that's cool. They've managed to kill one Rarunga, but unless I'm mistaken, more than one has turned up to pursue Chagum. Oh yeah, Chagum in super-saiyan mode is pretty cool as well.

By the way, the correct spelling is not "nahji".

It's "nerge". Although it is pronounced somewhat like "nahji", the correct spelling is "nerge".

Nerge is species of bird, the same one that Sagum had.

A straightforward episode with lots of feel-good moments. No need for me to name them all.

Balsa, to Chagum:
"Jiguro believed it sinful for one not to put their capabilities to use, even if there was no gain to be had. To Jiguro, being a national hero and saving a nameless human being were of equal merit."


To me, it is significant that Balsa admits that she did not understand the nobility of her vow to save eight lives until quite recently. She was around 22 perhaps, when Jiguro died? From inference, we gather that it was not until she was 28 that she stopped killing people while being a bodyguard. And now, as a 30-year-old, she finally realised how Jiguro felt, while protecting Chagum as Jiguro once protected her.

Indeed, what does it mean to be a hero? I'm quite pleased to find an anime that explores this question with such sincerity.

However, Balsa, how much older must you get before settling down? The perfect guy is sitting right in front of you.

Even the night scene, daddy busy with spears and mummy, well, tha grinding stone (or such) .. I dunno what the english word is

But damn young Balsa sooo beautiful, its an understatement
