Uta no Prince wannabe?
The characters are rather nice to look at.
Still, this is going straight to the boy band world.
At least they showed us what it looks like for real.
They definitely didn't romanticize the process.
I really appreciated that.
This has some possibilities.
Will give it a few more episodes before I decide.

OK, so I had nothing better to do , so I watched this.

I guess there have been so many shows about girls becoming pop idols lately that a show about guys becoming pop idols is just 'sauce for the goose', I guess. Fair enough. Makes a change.

Admittedly, during the coffee shop scene, I thought "So is the white haired guy offering the other guy a job, or trying to chat him up? Or is it a little from column A, and a little from column B?"

It did amuse me, but more in a 'laughing at' than 'laughing with' way. The introduction lines were just ultra-cheesy!

....I did not expect this show heading for a total comedy direction.
And yeah, agreeing with the above. I end up finding myself constantly laughing at this show.

So is this campy and funny like UtaPri or hilariously sobaditsgood like Bakamatsu Rock?

Some where in between I think.
It is not completely ridiculous like the Bakamatsu. But this show clearly toss in scenes that are intentionally made stupid and wants the audience to laugh at it.

The self-deprecating jokes are working, so I guess that's a success?

Umm... well, it was better than I thought it would be, but not by much. To be honest the feeling I get kinda makes my skin crawl a bit (wonder if it is a guy thing?) - but I gotta hand it to the series for trying and spending money on animation rather than cgi sequences.

Oh yes - when the manager first showed up I almost destroyed my tablet by spraying soda all over it. Give me some kinda warning next time!

Sigh... Well, I tried, I guess.

Dropped.

Is this satire, I wonder? It's certainly... a spectacle.

I enjoyed this and will follow. Art is nice and the boys look good. It's somewhat comical but somehow I also feel bad for those poor boys. They have to go through the same boring routine everyday and practice those embarrassing lines.

But they WERE supposed to be ultra-cheesy...

I'm not sure why people think this show is taking the idol thing particularly seriously. It kept riffing on the usual idol stereotypes - cutesy nicknames, subverting the usual idol tropes (endless boring practices and trainings, the tall one being uncomfortable with people looking at him, the blond kid being all "NO, IDOL GROUPS NEVER FIGHT OR BREAK UP LALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU", etc.), embarrassing catchphrases with even more embarrassing poses (and the boss' comments that yes, these are in fact super lame unless you do them super well ), the red-haired guitarist one having yaeba (which may or may not be a direct shout out at UtaPri's Otoya), and so on, I thought it was all hilarious and absolutely spot-on. But the best part had to be Kakeru practicing his catcphrase and pose while hopeful, rousing music played, only to have his sister tell him that he's being ultra lame. XD Much self-awareness and self-depreciating humor, something I always appreciate.

I didn't know what to expect from this show, not being familiar with the source material, but I like it so far. My only problem is that at the moment it's a bit lacking - partly I guess it's the direction, and partly some of the voice acting. The blond kid's (Daiki?) voice - not only is it grating but unfortunately Aoi Shouta sucks at acting, which is bad because he's probably going to have a prominent plotline (he's an orphan, right?); and the funny haired guy is so incredibly annoying I wanted to punch him after two lines.

On the other hand, it has Namikawa Daisuke using his ikemen voice. Oh yes.

Anyway, I like this so far, and I'll keep watching for the time being.

Because it kinda looks serious? Don't get me wrong, I think everything it's presenting from the idol world is SHELARIOUS and I laughed hard but I feel like the show itself is actually presenting everything in a real serious manner. Like, the characters actually care to become those idols and actually seriously train those introductions, despite (most of them) knowing how ridiculous it is... Can't put my finger on it.

It's just not Utapri or Bakumatsu Rock in delivery, where you know it's a comedy right off the bat thanks to the bright colors alone and characters jumping off rooftops.

"Cheesy"? "Satire"? I guess. But I just took it all straight and enjoyed the heck out of it, both characters and story. Sure they were riffing on the cliches, but that doesn't mean they were devaluing the cliches, at least for me. In any case, I had no idea I would like this show as much as I did.

It sure is the season for bishis. And I had a good laugh while watching this, except for that manager. The humor was bit hit and miss (calling your owl Cat? Really?), but I'll give it some eps to see where it's going.

Well that was lot better then I thought it be. Granted not sure whether it's taking itself seriously or not, at the very least it was enjoyable to watch. The story could be interesting with the rise of an idol group (or downfall you never know where this show could lead). Those introduction lines were so cheesy I'm just wandering whether that was the point or is the manager planning something. Animation was actually fairly good nothing outstanding but hey at the very least the performances doesn't look cgi (for now). Will continue watching this to see where it goes.

Ok, is this supposed to be a pisstake on idol anime?

HOLY SHIT THOSE LINES WERE HILARIOUS!

Who am I kidding? This show had me at the president, who I seriously thought was OnoD but apparently it's Namikawa. Holy shit, did not even sound like him...
