The biggest reason for why English is hard, is because it has NO coherent law and rules left intact, when every other crap is an exception.

The many sides of Thor. Btw, just in case you don't get the meaning of the last column, "thor jie" means thank you in cantonese.

I don't know for those who have to learn the latin alphabet, but for those who don't, I think English's one of the easiest languages out there.

Sure, there are a few exceptions to deal with, but that's not uncommon. On the other hand, the grammar's pretty simple, and you don't have to deal with problems of gender or accents.

Case in point: On the internet, most foreigners apologize for their "bad english" when 9 times out of 10 they use English better than native speakers.

The great majority of Americans don't speak or write English properly often or very often. Think back to English classes in school. All those technicalities you have to get down and learn. Unless you are an English major, you probably make mistakes with your written and spoken English often. English and Chinese are considered the two hardest mainstream languages in the world. Maybe they are the two hardest languages in the world. Well, I suppose three languages, if they were counting both Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese.

So, I bet if an English professor was to critique this post of mine, they'd find grammatical errors in it.

It's just that nobody gives a shit as long as it is able to convey the correct meaning.

Of course if the discourse is riddled with spelling and grammatical errors, the wrong meaning will be conveyed, and therefore screw everybody over trying to decipher what the hell you mean.
