Setsuna was my favorite character, but within the first two episodes you could totally tell that she was going to get shafted. Poor girl. Every time she wanted to express her feelings, she wouldn't, but those pure, beautiful sounding bells would ring. It broke my heart every time Setsuna got ignored...

At least she has plenty of fans in the real world. That should be some consolation.

I'm sort of a little surprised that ADV's licensing announcement for this came so quickly, as the R2 DVDs aren't even all out yet. But, in any event, I guess it makes sense that it would be licensed, given its relationship to Kannazuki no Miko. Sort of surprised that it's ADV and not Geneon, but it's all good. I hope they get all of the mini-episodes on the DVD, and use as much of the R2 art as possible. Looking forward to it!

I haven't been keeping up with info on this since I finished it a few months back. I'm glad to see it's being licensed though. I actually watched KnM dubbed first before I saw the sub, so I'm hoping Stephanie Sheh and Michelle Ruff will get the Himiko and Kaon parts.

I stared at the screen for a few minutes when I first saw the news.
Still in shock.

---
Edit:
Well, I think I'm over it.
And that means I won't be releasing anymore subs for the specials now. (Darn, we were almost finished...)

I was really surprised because I didn't think Kyoshiro was big enough in the community to warrant ADV licensing it...
But yeah, I think it has to do with Kannazuki. Kannazuki's license is less surprising because it's definitely more well-known than Kyoshiro. Most of Kaishaku's stuff is licensed anyway. (All, I think, except for Kagihime)

That's a little surprise. Who would've thought that ADV will be the one licensing Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora and not Geneon. Still, I really don't mind since ADV is one of my favorite dub companies.

Wow, first, I find out Gurren Lagann was licensed already along with the 1st two Nanoha seasons and now Kyoshiro =O. Plus, I didn't expect ADV to pick this type of series up also. I must say, I'll definitely be saving up more now I have more on my to buy list.

You didn't? I'm sure many of us did including me, especially with Kannazuki no Miko on the mind.

Kyoshiro was one beautiful series, so DVD quality is going to be something to see. Very happy this has happened --- now i can rewatch with wonderful quality.

You'll just never let that go, will you... (Granted that I agree it's ugly... but at least the rest of the release is pretty good IMO) On the plus side, though, their Ah! My Goddess season 2 is a near perfect match to Media Blasters' season 1, and looks great. So I guess it all depends on who's in charge of marketing/packaging, or something.

In all seriousness, though, I'm about three months behind on my R2 scans, but I'll definitely try to get caught up on the scans for this. Really, really nice packaging, with wrap-around art on both sides of the reversible cover, plus guest art. It'd be a shame to see it all go to waste in R1. Wait and see, as usual...

Or we can send a few 'nice' letters to ADV. Actually.. would they think about changing the title? D:

No, I'm pretty sure it was announced as "Kyoshiro and the Eternal Sky", so that's about right.

I just saw the DVD extras featuring a Kaon x Himiko side story. It was really something. The yuri atmosphere between the 2 really reminds me of Kannazuki no Miko.

Isn't that the whole point? :3

The DVD extra was such a relaxing watch, its a nice chance to see more out of these two who didn't get enough time together in the actually series --- Kannazuki no Miko all over.

Yes you should scan them.
I saw a few scans from the third DVD floating around, and they were really cute. (Setsuna with glasses = )

ADV's decision still is puzzling me though. ANN has a video of the announcement, and there was only applause while Gurren Lagann and Devil May Cry had lots of cheering.
---
Edit: I just saw the third special. I'm still cracking up. XD
