Would it be wishful thinking to hope the PV is a strong indicator of the episodes quality?

That depends.
If it is a film, then the quality would be even better.
If it is an OVA, expect 50/50 quality shots.
If it is a TV series, it is wishful thinking.

Keep in mind that the trailer was done separate to the show. We are not even sure any of the trailer shots would even be used.

Description from MyAnimeList:
In a world where boundary between human and yokai worlds is no longer distinguishable, 3 different groups pursue for power. What is Count of Reality and Destruction of Negentrophy? Koto, a high school girl who got out of maze of Java Work, chases the shadow of "Kuro Usagi (Black Rabbit)". This is a story surrounding various people chasing Kuro Usagi in Kyoto, where time has stopped.

There's some Kyousogiga videos on bandai channel featuring newbie voice actor Akari Harashima.

Kugyuu is Koto (young), that's rather surprising.

So probably OVA/short film ? I'd have expected something more ambitious like a full length movie. Let's hope it'll lead to a bigger project.
They introduced many goodies at Chara Hobby so I hope Toei doesn't produce this anime to only sell goodies.
By the way someone took photos of the event including setting & key animation pictures of the PV : http://imgur.com/a/WxbCT

Came across the PV today kinda randomly.

WHY HAVEN'T I HEARD OF THIS YET.

This needs more hype (... whatever it is). I'm so pumped after watching that.

Something that interests me based on the PV and the character descriptions on the site:
Quote:
あの人は表裏あるよねなんてのはよく聞く話だが、果たして人は二面ぐらいで割り切れるものなの だろうか。
"You often hear, 'There's two faces to that person,' but can a person really be split into a mere two sides?"

Aside from the obviously labelled "Koto (???)" older character, Hakuran (fox mask) also has the same hair as Koto. Hell, some crazy part of my mind wonders if her brothers (those are her brothers, right? Character description mentions a sister but doesn't say who the sister is) are also just another side of her. Hmmmm...

EDIT: Okay I need to calm down or I'm going to be disappointed when it actually comes out. I've seriously been shaking giddily in my chair and grinning like a maniac for the past half an hour.

You should have posted the entire quote from the recent article:

Quote:
The Japanese studio Toei Animation announced on Saturday that Kyousogiga, its original anime collaboration with the toy maker Banpresto, will be distributed online on December 10. However, there will first be premium screenings in Tokyo and Kyoto on December 1 and December 4, respectively. There will also be special remix DVDs bundled with Figure Ō and Dengeki Hobby Magazine on September 23 and 24, respectively, followed by a manga adaptation in Dengeki Maoh magazine this fall.

Toei Animation also announced the cast for the anime's characters:
Rie Kugimiya as Koto
Kenichi Suzumura as Myōe
Chiwa Saito as Doctor Shōko
Eri Kitamura as Yase
Noriko Hidaka as Aun Brothers A
Ryoko Shiraishi as Aun Brothers Un
Aya Hisakawa as Koto (???)
Shigeru Nakahara as Chief Priest
Kyousougiga is confirmed to be an ONA. Not a distribution medium I'm familiar with, or excited for. I've only seen 2 ONA series before and both of them were bad. Is there still hope for this anime or will it just be a quick clipshow of cool-looking scenes? What are some examples of good ONA anyway?

Oh of course! I missed noticing that since I only saw the compilation movie. Good thing to know that there are some excellent ONA out there and the internet isn't a complete throwaway distribution method for anime.

Translated the character profiles, if anyone's interested and doesn't mind my translation. Also rambled and speculated for a bit at the end of the post but you can ignore that.

Thanks for the translation ! That was helpful.
I agree with your speculation. Also collapse of negentropy could explain why humans and spirits have been thrown together in chaos... but it'd also mean that something regulates these two types of beings.

Saw the PV for this the other day and WHOA, that was awesome and kinda trippy at the same time. Have they said if this is going to be a one installment series(?) or if it's going to be something with multiple parts a la Time of Eve?
