There's no way a 3rd season will be done, Kyoani has to complete so many other projects and tender for Little Busters! from Key. A tender is a complex process, believe me.

^^ Well, it depends, I think that if anything, Haruhi II will be shafted back AGAIN.
Probable listing:

1. Munto
2. Tomoyo ~another story~?
3. Little Busters [has to be Kyoani, under some unwritten Key law]
4. Haruhi II

Just as a reminder, that is just khs' totally wild speculation. I don't want to wait 3 weeks and see that timetable in every anime blog taken for granted

One was already adapted, so seeing it being readapted might be very unlikely especially for its vintage.
Tomoyo After might be brushed off as it is still within the "clannad franchise".

The only true possibilities for Key adaptations would be either Planetarian or Little Busters, but as for the former, it doesn't have much substance to carry over 3 episodes, and KyoAni isn't exactly known to make "OVA only" series (well, there is Munto, but heh).

^^ So it'll be as such: (i guess)

Munto [1 cour]
LB [4 cour again?]
then what? anyone wants to give a shot at this?

[offtopic - who do you think will do Canvas 3? Game release, btw, is March 20 '09]

Munto's not an OVA now, it's a 13-episode TV show, ending this spring.

So probably another seasonal break and then LB in the fall, then.

Sigh...

Well, they'll advertise LB after Clannad, most likely.

I don't understand why everyone is expecting KyoAni to immediatly jump on a Little Busters adaption. Sure they would probably get to it eventually, but it's not like they have a total obligation to do it asap. For all we know they could be choosing to adapt some other random source material instead.

They have too much else to do right now.

Also the backlash from 801 may have been what made them decide to NOT adapt it.

Tonari no 801-chan. Was announced somewhere in October that this would be one of KyoAni's new project to air for 2009. Unfortunately it got "scrapped" a week or so after it's announcement.

Also what backlash was there for 801?

I don't remember the announcement exactly being treated with shouts of glee.

Eh. I don't have one.

The Western fandom sure showered it in a rain of hate, but of course we don't matter...

Not sure where to post this, but in the widescreen ep9, there was a note on the top of the picture in the preview segment. It looks like the next widescreen ep will air on Jan 8th. So, no catching up like last season.

Doesn't matter, since the the regular showing is going to skip two weeks as well so the "catch up" won't be affected.

It does mean that the widescreen and fullframe versions will remain the same number of epsiodes apart when they resume.

Clannad: After Story

This is my favorite show of Fall 2008.

There's so many shows currently that fit the Japanese formula of catering to otakus, that this show really comes off as a breath of fresh air.

It's so full of slice-of-life and Japanese lifestyle that I feel I can't fall back into my Euro/West reality after watching it. I've never even watched it's predecessor, Clannad or played the games, but I'm still satisfied after each episode.

You haven't watched CLANNAD? You are, literally, losing half of the story there

You know, I haven't really watched any anime at all in the past 2 or 3 months for some reason, so I've been behind on the series since I stopped right after Yukine's arc (although I already know the original story to a reasonable degree). I finally broke my streak by watching episodes 9-13 today, and I must say this: I really liked the first season of Clannad. The true after story arc, however, totally blows the first season out of the water. I'm late to the party, sure, but I just had to say it.

Now to work up the courage to continue watching.
