Microsoft reporting that Xbox One sold 1 million (worldwide) in day 1.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=721079 http://news.xbox.com/ Looks like this fight has just gotten started.

Considering NA region consist of majority of Xbox market share, I don't think they are too far behind PS4 in terms of day 1 sales eventhough the reported number is for worldwide. All in all, it's good for consumers to have both console in close competition.

However Microsoft has shown some great logistics as well. I'm impressed.

1. How much % of USA market has each side managed to capture, AFTER supplies become plentiful and everyone can get one if they want to. (USA is the MS stronghold, so anything less than 51% of the market would be a blow to Microsoft.) and 2. The tactic to release in selected European countries for XB1 before PS4 was an attempt to recapture Europe and to hold on to existing lead in the UK. This is an uphill battle, and MS would be happy to get a share increase. Sony would be after the UK market, but we will see how their supplies hold up by that point. That's pretty much it. Funny that most people don't even bother talking about Japan anymore.

As for Japan, a lot of focus is on mobile gaming these days. Console market seems to be stagnant/shrinking there. Also, it's pretty much a given for Sony, there's little harm for them to redirect early shipment to NA region early on to try and recapture that market.

IMHO Nintendo should have waited until 2014 to release their console. It would be a perfect time to catch Sony with their pants down in it's home turf and get back in the race... that is if Nintendo was actually interested in being in the race in the first place (my opinion is they're not, they want to be to the other console makers like Apple is to the other PC/Cellphone makers)

PSX - 19.3 million Saturn - 5.8 million N64- 5.54 million total - 30.64 million PS2 - 23.18 million Gamecube - 4 million Dreamcast - 2.25 million XBOX - 0.5 million total - 29.93 million Wii - 12.75 million ps3 - 9.6 million 360 - 1.65 million total - 24 million Wii U is a flop, ps4 won't get near ps3 numbers, heck 3ds won't get near ds numbers and the vita is no comp compared to the psp. In america otoh.... PSX - 39 million N64 - 20 million Saturn - 1.83 million total - 60.83 PS2 - 53.65 XBOX - 15.77 Gamecube - 12.55 Dreamcast - 3.9 total - 85.87 Wii - 44.95 360 - 44.86 PS3 - 27.45 total - 117.26 Market keeps getting stronger, plus they got their asses kicked last gen, Japan becoming irrelevant for consoles plus the need to win America is why no one talks about Japan anymore. |

Apparently, don't swear on the Xbox One, not even in private skype calls otherwise you'll get banned.

It also tells you that nothing is sacred and big brother (Microshaft) is listening/watching, ALWAYS ...but if, IF I ever get a "the ONE" it will be after a significant re-tool of the console (like a Version 2 or 3) and a drop in price (still looks pretty sexy tho). |

People will just have to change how they talk for XBox One.
Brosef 1: So me and Jasmine had a talk last night. It lasted all flogging night. Brosef 2: Yeah, dude, what was it about? Brosef 1: She says maybe we should see other people... Brosef 2: Oh poopey! Dude, what are you going to do? Brosef 1: I don't flogging know...

I would not be surprised if the One games have an automatic pause time programmed in to show Doritos, Taco Bell, T-Mobile, and various other commercials that requires the player to watch for a certain aloted time (unless of course they're a gold subscriber then they can skip the ads).

I must say, so we are not allowed to use profanity on Skype yet we are allowed to play games that use profanity. Play multiplayer and use profanity with other people around the world. Anyone see something wrong?
