Pretty sure if it sticks to the LN its def not a harem. But I am not sure how it works out. I would be absolutely stunned if the author decides to have him be in a romantic relationship with Aoyama because then I would have wasted all my time watching the anime. |

I also don't like this development...
just after they are united to make Nyaboron... now they need to face old problems... Kanda got rejected again and can't control his emotion Shiina is confused with her feeling and no one there to help her (great! Even Aoyama won't help her this time) Jin and Misaki still got nowhere Ryuunosuke is MIA again... xD poor Aoyama.... I really won't forgive Kanda if he break his promise on Christmas Eve.... although he'll get nice boat ending from Shiina... remember? she loves knives! |

Sorata is in a terrible pinch, actually. He is so close to Shiina. They are together always and he has often seen her in her pantsu or sometimes even without them. It is reasonable that he has to make a great effort to not think of her as an ordinary girl which might be available romantically. Otherwise it will be very hard for him to control his heart, his thoughts and even parts of his body. It seems he cannot even lock his room (and besides a girl may come in the window at any time) so there is no relief. It would be much easier for him if she went back to ignoring everything except her art, and especially him.
We probably know the cast well enough by now to assume automatically that Sorata is going to forget his pinky promise, or at least decide not to honor it. In that relationship, he really seems to be completely clueless. That is reasonable, boys that age can have a hard time understanding things that are not said. I was more surprised that Aoyama and her two friends discussed her pursuit of Sorata so openly. She has come a long way from when she needed a toy tiger to tell her what she felt. Also: I miss the old ED. One of my favorite melodies of the decade so far. Also: Why did the lunch spell SU KI with katakana?? Just easier to make? |

Again, didn't we have this sort of doom and gloom prediction last year when both Nanami's test and Mashiro's debut happened on the same day?

Great episode until Sorata ruined it at the end there. The Mashiro character development is immaculate though, I love this girl. Side note, I'm also a fan of the new OP and ED. Even if I do like Days of Dash a little more, I was still swaying back and forth for the new ED.
Anyways, back to stupid Sorata. What bugs me the most about this kid is that he's able to act rationally (even with bad news bear looming over him) with everyone except Mashiro. Like it's been pointed out, he's the entire reason for her development, and the discussion with her editor couldn't have spelled it out any clearer. He needs to sort out his feelings for Mashiro, cause this instability is started to grate on me. Poor girl is an angel who's bound to an insecure idiot.

I rather liked how Mashiro spelled it out at the end. "If [me being the way I used to be] is what you want, then get out of me!" He has put himself inside her heart, inside her head, to the point that she could not help but change. What right has he to yell at her for what he has made her into?

While I greatly approve of the sincere effort Sakurasou puts into giving Sorata relatable and legitimate reasons for acting like a cookie-cutter dense male lead, it's still hard to ignore that that's exactly what he's doing. Again, A+ for effort, but it still grates on me.
The less said about Nanami's chances of having a pleasant Christmas Eve at the theater, the better. Misaki is infuriating, but God, I love her sometimes. Pre-filled marriage registration in the shoe locker? Maybe next week she'll get a restraining order in her's. |

Sorata really needs to stop venting on Mashiro whenever he fails that application. I can understanding venting on her when she does stupid stuff, but he never actually vents about that. Only when he fails and needs something to take the frustration out.
Although her "Then get out of me" line was really awesome. Sounded nonsensical at first before it clicks on you that Sorata's in her heart now.

good episode,
yet it felt like kinda forced in terms of Sorta lashing out once again at Mashiro, who sadly enough is also in unknown territory with this new feelings inside her. It wasn't pleasant the first time around, but if this keeps on repeating Sorata will end just being a jerk in my book, an annoying one at that. Yeah, I do understand all that rejection angst, being young and stuff but there are limits, especially when lashing out on an innocent party like Mashiro. It's never an excuse. So yeah maybe he should just go with Aoyama, If never grows up. He doesn't deserve someone like Mashiro. But again it feels like he was just made to that blow out thing for the plot. not very good writing if you ask me. mashrio was great at that scene though yeah Sorata should take responsibility. Do you mean why she used KATAKANA? well, probably for emphasis, although Katakana is usually used for foreign words in japanese writing they sometimes use it too for japanese word to emphasize something, akin to bolding a word in english i suppose. Very Misaki like if you ask me, she always so larger than life (and i don't mean her....ears) Last edited by garbage; 2013-01-08 at 21:40. |
