Karakuri Circus Anticipation

Manga 'Karakuri Circus' is getting a TV anime adaptation. (creator of Ushio to Tora, Kazuhiro Fujita)

Plot:
Quote:
The protagonist, Masaru, has just inherited a big fortune after the death of his father. However, people are trying to get their hands on it by any means necessary, even if it means killing him. Narumi helped Masaru from being kidnapped after fighting some weird guys. He found out that they're not humans but wooden puppets with amazing strength. After a hard fight, Narumi was forced to admit that he's no opponent for them; and just when he started to think that Masaru would be captured, Shirogane, Masaru's watcher arrives from France with a weapon, the puppet Arlequin. Here, begins the story of Karakuri Circus.

another blast from the past, excellent. This manga is pretty good as well, really hope it will get a good studio and staff, don't want another disappointment like Houshin Engi

Wow, what is it with Fujita's old long-dead manga franchises getting anime? Not that I'm complaining.

Someone in high places really has a boner for Fujita's 90s mangas hard enough to order anime adaptation of them .

The recent Ushio to Tora anime is a decent-to-great adaptation. Here's hoping Karakuri gets the same treatment, if not better. After all, the manga has 43 volumes which is longer than Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga. They need to be all-out in adapting this. My dream would be the same people who brought us HxH (2011), JoJo or the aforementioned Ushio to Tora anime.

Definitely one of the worst-case scenarios that I'm prepared for .

I think UTT anime is decent. You can even say that some (if not many) episodes of the anime are great adaptations of some events in the manga. The fact that UTT can be considered astronomically lucky to get an adaptation at all in the millennium era makes me even more grateful that the anime turned out as good as we got, flaws and all.

It could've been so much worse, like the current Hoshin Engi anime .

Oh, and AKIKAN's wish from back then in Ushio thread actually came true :

I think the Ushio anime is quite good, given the scheduling constraints they were up against.

In a way, yes. One of the protags (Narumi) is a martial artist while the other protag (Shirogane) is a puppet-master with her rather-scary puppet, Arlequin. Both work together to protect Masaru almost throughout the series.

Many of the battles themselves are puppet-oriented. Imagine some fights done by Kankuro, Sasori or Granny Chiyo from Naruto and you'll get the idea. But like UTT, there's a good story in it too.

If you're interested, there's also animanga about another puppet-master called Karakurizoushi Ayatsuri Sakon that tells the story of Sakon and his puppet, Ukon.

Karakuri Circus is one of my favourite shounens. Seeing it get an adaption makes me really happy.

At the very least, I would hope that the story does a faithful and non-rushed adaption all the way till the Sahara Desert Arc.

This is amazing news. I hope it will get a high enough number of episodes for a proper adaptation.

43 volumes.
Well, there are few good stopping points as far I remember. It shouldn't be too hard if they want to do incomplete or multi-season adaptation.

Ya the key visual looked straight outta a madhouse production. Idk how anyone in their right mind sees SHAFT with that color design. Guess ppl want to do more useless bashing.

Anyways I trust Voln before of the staff lets hope its 3 cours.

If it's the latter, let's hope they have damn good scriptwriters & directors to pick the best story elements from the manga, tie them together well and execute it with enough grace and style.
