One of the most interesting things I've read about the red card incident was as followed: would people still question the decision if the situation was exactly the same but instead of Nani it was Pepe doing the kick?
My reaction was no way in hell, we would probably be screaming bloody murder.

Referee Antony Taylor send of two players in the EPL match West Ham versus Everton recently for identical fouls. Oddly the FA rescinded both red cards. I guess it's not quite clear what the correct punishment is for this type of foul.

Anyway, my wish is that Dortmund will win this tournament while someone rips a new one on Real Madrid. |

so this week we have four teams in quaters finals: Real Madrid (they got lucky), Borussia Dortmund (nice team), Juventus (another nice team) and PSG (they still have work to do).
if you guys want to see bad referees you may want to see the ones at my country, it feel like is 12 vs 11 or either not pointed penalties or fabricated penalties every weekend.

On the issue of the Nani incident, my first reaction was "Yellow, surely."
The red came out and was really harsh but United lost all composure and concentration after that, and based on the end result probably deserved to lose. One must wonder however, had Nani stayed on the pitch, would it have mattered in the end? Probably would have headed to extra time in my honest opinion. Hopefully United move on and give a good go at Chelsea in the FA Cup. Sucks to see an English club crash out of the Champions League (Arsenal are probably going out as well, barring any miracle), but eh, referees have always sided the Spanish giants because Platini cannot get his head out of their behinds. |

CL football this week, Barcelona seems on the road to recovery. Impressive victory over Milan. Villa back in the forward line adds a much needed second goal scoring threat to take pressure of Messi. Iniesta back in midfield where he belongs, same with Fabregas on the bench.
Bayern-Arsenal was odd. Terrible match and Bayern were dreadful. They completely lost it. Arsenal were pretty poor as well but still got close to making a sensational comeback. |

Oh Arsenal, so close yet so far...
Yeah, i agree, Bayern was dreadful. As for Arsenal itself, well the pressure is there. So can not really blame them. Though i must give my thumb for Koscielny. Good choice fielding him instead of the off-form Vermalaen. |

Man, one of the best European nights in our history. Now if only we could turn this kind of performance for the remaining league matches, CL spot is ours...
Bayern were poor but I'd say Arsenal were very organised and solid at the back. The attack play of both sides were poor though. |

we have the other four teams: Barcelona (it look like they comeback), Malaga, Bayern (why did they play so poor?) and Galatasaray (they managed to won in germany, that was a suprised for me). out of the eight teams whta I want to see is a Borussia vs Barcelona or a Juventus vs Barcelona that could be nice.

I wouldn't mind a Juve vs Barca either, I mean if we are to be eliminated in the next round we might as well face the spaniards and see how much work Conte still has to do.
Though my favorite match would likely be a Juve vs Real, for very obvious reasons. |

And what's funny is that we used to have Arsenal/Liverpool in the quarterfinals in 2008. Looks that way. If we consider all the crap Platini has said before about how he would ravish at the possibility of having 2 teams from the same country playing in the finals (and he was implying the 2 Spanish giants there), there's nothing to be surprised anymore. |
