Maybe its because I have not seen Saki in a couple years, but it the art looks the same to me. Anyway I like the style well enough and as long as it delivers on the Yuri mahjong action.

Actually, I'm rather liking the overall concept behind this spinoff, of having an alternate group of protagonists interacting and living near the protagonists of the original series and both series actively complementing each other and hopefully, sometime, airing at the same time.

True, its an interesting concept. Also since I expect they will be facing the group from the first series, its a great way to build up both sides.

That's depend on anime staff. The yuri level in the manga of the first season is nothing special ,but in anime they boosted it to the max.

As for achiga-hen, there are two couples at least.

First couple is more like close friend. One of them blush at another girl from time to time.

Second couple is also a close friend ,but their action can be described as a light Yuri. (depend on your imagination)

Since Achiga-hen has the same director as Saki, the yuri level maybe bossted as well.

Wat nooooo...I want a full 2 cours. Maybe (hopefully) they'll just extend it more later. Split cour possibly? I don't think Achiga can really be covered with just 12 episodes.

Hopefully it will do well and they will do another season. Or maybe we will finally get the National Tourment arc.

Actually, with 12-13 ep. , It's possible that they plan to do "1 ep. in anime = 1 ch. or 1.5 ch. in manga" (as I said before)

I think it's possible without cutting out anything ,but they will also have little room to add in anything as well.

OF course, I prefer full 2 cours more.

- Shizuno voice is a bit annoying ,but I guess I can get use to it.
- I have a hard time trying to figue out which lines are Ako voice - -'' Her voice is ok.

Kuro: Typical Kana Yuu: Not familiar, no opinion Ako: Not familiar, no opinion Arata: I didn't expect a low and flat voice for her character. Need to get used to all of them when the series starts.

The national tournament schedule already factored that in. The basic premise lies on two things: Letting Nodoka's middle school friends, based on group effort, join the national tournament and see how far they can go, and their coach, Harue Akado, who once gave up in the same tournament. The yuri aspect in the original season was done rather deliberately, whereas in this new series, it came sort of naturally. Shizuno is the pillar of the team, always determined, never give up, genki type of girl. The Matsumi sisters are dependable but not always reliable. Ako, together with Shizuno, is most close with Nodoka. The producer mentioned, if the Achiga-hen team were to play many matches, using digital style as a basis, Ako will probably come out top. Arata is most tied in with Harue Akado, and the producer wants us, the viewers, to look forward to her. Regarding the cast, they went for a young and fresh look for the Achiga-hen and Senriyama teams. For Shiraitodai, it'll be a group of experienced VAs.
