I fail to see what's seinen about this so far.
And that's why it is laughable when fanbois get into big fights over what genre an anime is. By strict definition, a title is labeled by what publishing house picked it up and their supposed "demographic targeting". In actuality, it appears that most publishers will pick up anything they think will sell.

Hehe, but I can totally understand the Mio love. The first time I saw her I knew she's gonna be my favorite character and out of all characters that appeared yet (which seems to be about all) She's gonna stay I just like that kind of girl~~ A little bit Tsun, but not too much. And sometimes a bit annoyed
"You're flashback is a lie" So cool~ And she has long black hair...favorite hair length and color of mine.

I really like the animation and it was really funny. The characters have a nice design and fitting characters. Ritsu is seemingly a little Haruhi without the god thing and her hair ribbon(?) seems to be a nice reference. I'll watch this series for sure. it's nice for relaxing

Good point, lol. But the totals are high, and I do expect that this dominance will continue, with FMA joining the group.

We'll see. It's very early days yet, with not all shows having even broadcast in Japan. I usually check the 2channel/AS totals after all shows have gone through three eps. I just happened to notice the totals today.

Animation style seems to be a sort of half way point between Haruhi and Lucky Star (wth facial changes inspired by Haruhi-chan) and some backgrounds based on Key products. Or at least that is my impression of it so far.

I found it rather...well, not unique but not the usual stuff either. Hence why I'm drawn to it.
And yeah, it has similarities with the two above.

Episode 1 article is up:

[RIUVA] Trial Run: K-ON!, Episode 1

It's on a 3-episode trial run at the moment purely because I'm not sure whether my writing is up to snuff when it comes to covering this. K-ON! is definitely the keeper of the season for me.

Avvie Request:

02:12-02:14 -> Inside the OP, the four girls fall together and Ritsu holds out the camera, camera flash to white, repeat.

If possible to keep within the ASuki limit:

02:12-02:19 -> Same, except it extends to until the K-ON! logo is seen for a while, and repeat.

Finished watching the first episode while ago, and so far... it looks promising so far and turned out better than the first episodes of Lucky Star.

My full reaction can be read at my blog: K-ON! - Episode 1

Well this is a company that knows what has worked with them in the past and they've shown they like to play it safe and will probably continue wanting to do that for a while after Munto is over. They know their core audience, know what they like, and know how to give it to them. It's the oldest successful formula in the business and you can see it being put into place by video game companies too such as Banpresto with it's Super Robot Wars franchise and Capcom with pretty much all of it's franchises.

Can't believe it's already subbed, guess I watched the raw last night for nothing (well, other than to remind me my Japanese sucks). Looking forward to watching with the ability to understand what they're saying after work tonight...

Well, it's clearly a sign of a show's popularity when anti-trolls have been flooding nico with fakes. At the same time, Gevanni has been very busy as a search for けいおん!is filled with people playing the OP/ED on their own guitars.

The song they played during the show (the band played for Yui) was actually Please Give Me Wings by Jun Maeda (KEY) if I'm not mistaken

K-On! is definitely a nice little series. It's fun and cute and fluffy and all of those things. It clearly is filled with great potential, but I'm not ready to say anything daring yet due to this being the first episode.

Various Thoughts:

-Mio/Ritsu are the best characters so far. Very funny duo.
-The "Little Jokes" are what got to me. You know; Castanets, Krauser-Sama, Harmonica, Flashback...
-Yui doesn't feel very entertaining. Could turn moeblob.
-This is actually the first high-school anime I watched that forces clubs so much. I know in real life they are very serious, but in animes they are like an afterthought.
-ED and OP are great.

Dojikkos are born moeblobs, not everyone will like them, but we dojikko lovers love them to death lol

Yui may be moeblob, but as the main character, she probably will show decent growth as she picks up guitar and music.
