That was alright. Considering how many times we've dived into this sort of genre it did a solid job. The MC had an enjoyable personality, did make an effort to get himself back home, and was likable enough in how he looked after Aku.
Wasn't perfect or anything. It was a bit weird how he went invisible and then almost immediately went visible again. It was kind of a given that psychos that sent this girl out to be sacrificed would harass her upon her return. But it could be a pretty solid and enjoyable show.

As LN adaptations go, Retry's a very young series to be getting an anime so soon. Vol 4 just came out this Jul 28, 2019, with Vol 5 due for Nov 22, 2019. https://alert.shop-bell.com/comic/13485/
However, the author states their revised LN content is drastically different from their original draft WN (thus LN is the "definitive version"). https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/new...-anime/.136672 They were considering removing the draft WN version, but later decided to keep it for (likely) posterity reasons. https://ncode.syosetu.com/n6789do/ Quote:

Idk how to feel about this honestly. A fine start I guess but not too impressed by it yet.
It's cute and all with the character chemistry between the two main characters. At the same time, I didn't find much happened with the amount of content.

Is this the first time Kenjiro Tsuda has ever played the main character of an anime? I mean, not just a main character, but the actual lead character? I can't think of anything. Pretty cool though
Hey, at least the main character didn't get hit by a truck to get isekai'd. In comes random meteor shower . Although I wonder if the explosion only transported him into the game world. Maybe it hit other people who were playing the game at the same time and transported them as well ? You know this anime is going to be self-aware when the main character talks about wishing he read more Light Novels after getting isekai'd . Man, this really reminded me a lot of How to Not Summon a Demon Lord, with the main character getting transported into a game they play as a Demon Lord and then having to act the part around other people and the contrast with their actual personality. Kunai's not as over-the-top as Diablo yet . When Kunai yelled out "Administrator" I expected a naked Quinella from SAO to just randomly turn up . So is he in his game or not? I only ask because he seems to still have administrator privileges but didn't seem to recognize a lot of what was in a game world he supposedly designed . Aku's really cute, and I think she and Kainu have a nice dynamic where she's sweet and innocent but keeps assuming he's a devilish and lecherous demon lord when he's anything but. Watching Kainu stick up for her was pretty sweet too . Why did the village treat Aku so badly? I mean, people can be terrible, but I don't get why they would pick on a poor, defenseless, little girl for no reason. Is it related to what happened to her leg maybe ? Look at Kainu, assuming all Isekai protagonists have porn that they should delete before getting transported to another world. Rimuru's got him covered .

The first episode went the self-aware route with all these references to "if you're teleporting me to another world I should've read a light novel first" and "this is a generic fantasy setting" and the last line about letting him erase his hard drive first before being teleported ala reincarnated as a slime
If anything having a yakuza looking guy as the MC is already a plus for me, although I'd point out that the bit about having admin privileges feels like it was pulled from SAO and Aku looks like a knockoff ram/rem from re zero, though that's not exactly a bad thing
