These Spartan IV's strike me as more gung-ho and reckless than their predecessors. It kinda makes sense considering where they hail from, but still you'd expect a little more sense than running out of cover to take on multiple enemies by yourself.

In all seriousness, though, the vast majority of Forerunner technology is human-friendly, given the whole nature of being Reclaimers.
My guess is that the box, given what it did to Glasbern, and the sphere in the Forerunner ruin, are the Librarian's indexes, the devices she used to preserve life from the firing of the Halo Array.

Well he did sorta get digitised as he got "pulled into" the artifact. Just wild guesing here, but it could be a derivative of the Composer. Maybe it was for turning humans into monitors and other ancillas, whereas the Composer was an unfinished tech aimed at turning humans and Forerunners alike into digital forms in order to survive the Flood.

You know, the way Didact spoke on the Terminal that he wanted to make them organic as synthetic to be inmune reminds me too much of Sythesis of ME 3 ending.
