Searching for mature, dark themed animes

Hello fellow anime lovers. I am currently not fully up to date with the latest animes, but I have the impression that the more younger groups are being targeted. Therefor my question about any animes that are of a more mature nature and that resembles the following examples:

Elfen Leid
Beserk
Hellsing
Monster
Death Note
Vampire Hunter D

Let's see what I have. You probably seen some of them but here it goes.

Ahem:

Why don't you give Phantom: Requiem of the Phantom, Fate/Zero, Kara no Kyoukai, and Mirai Nikki a shot if you're interested.

You could give Zetman and Another a shot.

How about Madoka Magica? It is dark-themed, despite all the designs (similar to how Elfen Lied is visually-deceiving).

For a more straight-up dark and mature, try Deadman Wonderland.

EDIT: I forgot to mention Rainbow. This is a must watch. Forget what I suggested earlier. Watch this.

I second Fate/Zero but I wonder if it will be better to watch Fate/stay night first. Madoka Magica is also a great recommendation.

As for me I found Bokurano pretty dark. The entire main cast are little children...but it's not a little children anime. In fact the reason I think it's so mature is that putting children in the "situations" the anime put them in shocks us more than using adults. So all in all it's a great watch. Since we're here I'll pair up Bokurano with my usual suggestion of Saikano too.

Perfect Blue is pretty dark...I don't really know how to describe it either.

Fate Stay night is not dark enough in my opinion unless we're talking about heaven's feel route here. I say go with Fate Zero
I would also recommend and second:
Steins Gate
Deadman wonderland
Kara no kyokai
Higurashi no naku koro ni or Umineko no naku koro ni
Rurouni Kenshin: Trust and Betrayal - I definitely recommend this.
