Hey Nagi! How ya'll doin'?
Why SUPER, Naturally! This past-life/reincarnation/God like powers thing, sure makes the story complicated. But I'm waiting for February too. PS. You folks that think this is a lolicon turn, don't look at P16. Or before. I like Ghost DG's hair better than the current doo! Hey, Solarus-SVU's site has been down for 7-10 days, are those folks OK? If it wasn't for those guys. I'd have never seen Umi No Misaki. Last edited by crossguy; 2013-01-26 at 16:19. Reason: Thoughts....keep.....happening.... |

What a chapter. I guess we are really going down the supernatural path here. I was hoping we wouldn't.
I haven't heard from Gari in months but I know he is alive and well. I believe he is enjoying real life.

Hmm... Judging by what 109 looks like. I'd say Nagi and Rinne have an opportunity to make a serious change to the ritual with the help of the other girls, to state that suicide should NEVER have been part of the ritual. For the souls of the past have all remained in the sea, in anguish.
So I'm hoping that this next revelation would grant to Nagi and the maidens a powerful premonition that if they do things differently THIS time; All that pain of the souls of the past would be cleansed, and they would be released to go to the heavens, instead of adding 1 to 5 new souls to the gaggle of pain already present. That mark on Rinne looks as if one of the tormented tried to drag her to her death, only to be rescued by Nagi's avatar, his past self. If in the event of such a moving vision Nagi states that the ritual is fundamentally flawed, and that death is not supposed to be the end result of the Rising Dragon Festival ritual, then they might be inclined to change that part. Personally, I would think that the better option to do, while keeping some of the old tradition intact, would be that when death is so near from old age or other life shortening events happens, THEN and only then would dying in the ocean be acceptable, because then, you take the happiness of your life with you, and impart some of it to those of the past who's lives were woefully cut short in previous rituals, and help them ascend to the heavens as it's meant to be. But... this is just my interpretation. Yours could be different, and if so, let us hear it.

It's nice to know this crazy roller coaster has other riders too.
We're in uncharted waters here mate, off the coast of Japan, and none of us know what the Author has in store for us. I guessed at outcomes too many times and wore my heart on my sleeve to boot. All we can do is lash ourselves to the mast and listen to the pretty singing. Landfall will be too soon to suit us all. Friday. (Watch out for the Cyclops!) This tale has the winding up feel to it right now. Ai yori Aoshi went 140 or so chapters, we are at 111, and it just feels like the author is starting to tuck in the loose ends. Not finishing, but headed to the climax and denouement.
Itadaki! is already at chapter 20 with no one scanlating it since Solarus SVU went on hiatus. Quote:
Might be all we get. That wouldn't be quite 140 chapters? (Is he fishing for an anime?) |

Plenty to talk about, just little to say.
Plot and character development will continue at the author's desired speed. All we can do is sit back and wait for agony or ecstasy. Triumph or train wreck. Etcetera or ad hominem. The Waiting is the hardest part. BTW- that's the first time with Kisaragi-sensei where she didn't appear to push buttons at the start of the conversation. She seemed serious..... |

Obviously going to be Shizuku. It would be nice if we had her thoughts on the matter more though. The author made sure to keep us out of her mind though. She does come off as a bit uncaring without us understanding her motives. They could be much different than what we think they are. She could be more worried about it than Karin and Soyogi and is trying to think of something else. Perhaps she thinks the older timers might try something drastic if Nagi knows the truth and tries to escape.
