But that doesn't give Saunders any material advantage, and we know that tactically they're not on the same level as Pravda and Black Forest. The only rationalization of "favorite" I can think of is that Saunders is the third or fourth seed, but is known to be less capable than the first two seeds.

Hmm, official data indicates the arsenal of Saunders include M4A1, M4A6, and the Firefly. Unfortunately, Pershings aren't part of their arsenal. That being said, Saunders has about 40 vehicles, the most numerous of all schools.

Black Forest has at least two Tigers, one confirmed Konigstiger, and a variety of Tiger series conversions that amount to 10 vehicles as witnessed in episode 10. Alongside 10 Panthers, BF apparently keep an arsenal of Panzer IIIs & IVs. Saunders may have the most vehicles, but I think BF is a very close second. In terms of quality, BF pretty much got it... especially in a straight-up match considering their variety of vehicles that can be fielded, adding to strategic flexibility.

Oh, another interesting data indicates that St. Gloriana's ship is 8 times larger than Oorai's...

In random commentary, I'm not a fan of the new brown color on the Panzer IV. I don't care if it's standard for the upgrade. The gray looked better.

I lost the link, but I came across official art a few hours ago which showed some lineart of the character designs. And Ami's uniform had "Tank School Unit" in English on it. So yeah, the supposition of the match taking place at the JGSDF's East Fuji Maneuver Area works out.

Fun trivia: Nakagami Ikumi, the voice actress for character Akiyama Yukari, seems to be a tank lover herself, and in fact attended this year's Fuji Firepower Exercise back in August, which takes place at the aforementioned East Fuji Maneuver Area.

But when Yukari spy the Saunder, they don't has Pershing or US TDs. All of them are M4 variants and Firefly. If they face to face BF, these Sherman can't win unless they sneak up to behind of BF. Because Tiger and Panther above can snipe Sherman from safely distance.

If money isn't an issue, they can probably buy some new tanks. So far the only school their Sherman/Firefly combo would have a problem with is Black Forest.

The Student Council was hoping for enough money to buy some more tanks, but they only had enough to get the Hetzer upgrade kit. Even with funds from the other school clubs.

IS-2/KV-2/T-34 combo of Pravda is more problem to Black Forest, more stronger firepower, more speed Saunder's M4 variants.

Tanks are expensive, Oorai sold all good tanks for enough fund to run Oorai in 20 years. Wonder how many and what kind of tanks Ooraid had once? Maybe they had Maus and other rare/unique tanks before.

Maybe the reason Saunder become one the favorite is because Pravda can beat BF last year, sprouting confidence that even with such line up, BF can be defeated...
Media than fans it by giving spot of favorite to semifinalist of previous year (Pravda, Saunder, St. Gloriana, and BF)...
You know, more variety bring more type of supporter, broader range of consumer, thus more profit...

The sad thing is the new color should be sand yellow, but thats the color of BF, so to diferenciate they choose the red brown. I would choose the green base color of late war german camo patterns.

Actually, the color is Oxidrot RAL 3009, the red primer used from September 1944 to December 1944 as the "base" upon which limited camo would be put on.

Hmm... *googles it. Checks the episode* I don't know... that color you named has more of a reddish tint to it. The Panzer IV is definitely a tannish brown.

This isn't about War vs Sport. This is about a powerful woman who refuses to back down by denying reality. Miho honours her family name, and Shiho outright refuse to accept that.

Most powerful German tank to ever seen battle during the war was the Konigstiger, and fielded by Black Forest under Erika. The Porsche Tiger was, as episode 10 indicated, prone to a number of mechanical failures. Only one ever made it into battle, and this was in the Eastern Front where a lone Tiger P was converted into a command panzer bearing turret number 003 under the command of Hauptmann Grillenberg.

There were many chassis made because Porsche thought their design would win the bid to become the next generation German heavy tank, thus numerous chassis were produced. These were later converted into Ferdinand and the Elephant, which one of each could be seen in Episode 10.
