@ slightly less than 10,000 yen too. It would be interesting to use all the vita functions on a tv.

But having double amount of memory than the original vita, can make the new vita a game changer, shorter loading times, more multitasking option.
Overall it is great news, besides having Phantasy Star Nova announced for it!

Edit: ehh, it has 1GB build-in storage, not memory, sorry.
Pretty sure it's the same resolution. You don't change core specs of a system half way through its life cycle.

Also someone do tell me more about that TV functionality. The one thing I'm missing on my Vita so far is tvout. Playing persona 4 on the TV... *drolls*

That's the new VitaTV the showed at the end of the conference. Basically it's like hooking up a Vita to a TV, where you use the TV as your screen, and a DS3 as your controller.

You have access to all the abilities that you VITA can do, and remote play (thus integrates with PS4 also)

I like the vitaTV news, but i would have preferred a video out option on the new PSV. But who knows maybe the slim PSV it does support MHL, and will be unlocked in the future.

A tvout option on the new console would make it an instant purchase for me.

Vita TV is so hilarious in hindsight.

People have been talking about OuyaOuyaOuya and how iOS7's controller support/etc would allow AppleTV or some other big company to trojan horse gaming into the $99 media box market, etc.

Sony: Oh that media box with games thing? Right here. PSOne, PSP, PSVita games. Remote Play with PS4. $99. Boom.

It's brilliant, I don't think anybody saw that coming

Seriously, why is Sony so on fire this Gen ?

It's being said that Kaz Hirai is instrumental in a lot of Sony's more exciting approach overall.

Insiders aware of Sony's plan said when Kaz became CEO, he literally told the Imaging Division to scrap their entire business/product roadmap and start from scratch because it was generic and uninspiring.

Why would they bother, since they already capitalized with the HD version for PS3?

Not surprisingly, VitaTV doesn't support the following:

-front/back touch screen
-electronic compass
-motion sensor
-Microphone

I think it's a pretty good move, seeing how people keep asking for an HDMI port for the Vita.

I even bought the component cable for the PSP back then.

I actually have my PSP Go hooked up via component cables to my TV. That, a Dualshock 3 and the tv zoom functionality make it a pretty neat portable console. The only problem is resolution and this new Vita fixes that. I'm actually pretty hyped for the Vita TV, wouldn't mind getting one right now to do a third playthrough of Persona 4: Golden

But seriously, that's a hell lot of games... For Japan only ^^
You can always import them (which I plan to do with Project Diva f 2 once pre-orders start) or wait to see if the games will come stateside.
