Hey guys, i have just started watching this show and i have a question regarding the term 'Yousei (fairy)'.
As I already know, this show spoofs off the fact that Japan has a low birthrate. But what does 'fairies' have in relations with this? I saw episode 1 of Joshiraku, and one of the girls mentioned 'Only fairies are allowed to be naked!' As well as other anime i have watched previously that use 'Yousei' in jokes and such. Because this show makes everything cute and adorable, i find it difficult to decrypt all the cultural references. But going by the basis 'birthrate declines and then the the fairies appear'. I'm guessing that 'yousei' is suppose to be a japanese slang term for prostitutes/wh*res/pornactress? Any japanese culture expert can clarify me on this. As this has been bugging me quite a while now, thanks. |

The fairies is quite a troll...I wonder what happen if they meet someone named heartseed...imagine...
They also make a good lawyer too able to find loophole in everything...no clone (body clone) fine then we just make a time clone of you (no actual clone since all of them is essentially the same person) where you will make us candy over and over again until we are satisfied....mwa hahaha |

I don't know why, but why do I get the feeling that Assistant-kun is actually a dog and that doctor is his/its veterinarian?
Holy crap, you're reading too much into this. And for the record, Japanese birthrate has been on an upward trend lately, so it's not falling, yet not high enough (still) to stop the population's decline. |

I think the fairies superimposed Watashis into the dog each time loop. They literally cooked them together to give Watashi's flavor to the dog and kept the new Watashi around to make sweets etc. After they were done, they just turned the dogs back into dogs ;_;
I actually like the idea that the assistant is the dog. He can't speak but wanders around and all that. His doc is a vet. She just imagined him as a boy clad in a Hawaiian T-shirt ._. At this point, I don't really know lol.

As one of the minority who loved Endless Eight, I loved this episode as well. For once the faeries actually use their 'powers' for their own benefit this time around.
Which really begs the question... if they can make artificial bananas that actual tastes good, why can't they make sweets?

Triiiiiiiiippyyyyyyyyyyy...
There is only one Watashi, but because the fairies' world is disconnected from time, she continues to exist there despite the fact that the "original" Watashi is constantly arriving, slipping on the banana peel, and leaving again to loop back around. Gets kind of disturbing on multiple levels... Until/unless the fairies shut that whole thing down, those "versions" of her will always be there. Watashi can leave all she wants, but the disconnected space will keep a "version" of her from that iteration there to help make sweets forever. ...In as much as "forever" can apply to a place that is disconnected from time... |

How does that answer your question? It's just a matter of perspective, I'd assume. There's no disconnection from time at all, and just like the black hole idea above, that "forever" happens during a discrete unit of time. Or not.

So this episode is Groundhog Day/Endless Eight Jinrui edition.
Firstly, those faeries man. They are evil little mudda fudgers and the fact they always have that "" face all the time, confirms they are also trolls that live at the expense of torturing others lol. I particularily lold at the notion that the faeries made a clone of Watashis to make a "confectionery manufacturing process plant" using Watashi slave labor so that they could satisfy their sugary needs. What I don't get is the banana. Why does slipping on a banana reverse time? Actually that's a dumb question to ask for a series like this where you should leave your "logic" at the door and just enjoy it purely from a "Wtf did I just watch" point of view and laugh at all the crazy and dark shiz that's happening. And enjoying a lot from this point of view I am. |
