I'd like to vote but I can't get a code because of the proxys (I suppose). If someone want to help me, it's welcome, but now, I'm only giving my picks:

A: Fuuko vs Hanyuu
Fuuko is #1 in Japan. The CLANNAD-combo could work, but Higurashi faction is going to put all its efforts to win. My prediction: Fuuko for a short margin.

B: Kirino vs Mikan
Mikan can surprise us, but Kirino has been doing a great campaign with excellent numbers. I feel that the quality of both candidates is very high but Kirino will win because she's more popular and Mikan didn't have enough time in TLR anime.

C: Kagami vs Kyou
I don't know why, but I think that CLANNAD-combo could be possible and Kagami might say goodbye again. 50%-50% There's no favorite one.

D: Tomoyo vs Miyako
Miya-chan took Rena home so she's an important rival. Tomoyo is the most popular among CLANNAD girls and was one of the favorites. Miyako may give a good fight but finally Tomoyo will win. No worry: PIECE AND LOVE

E: Shana vs Tamaki
Oh, yes. Buraiba must win for justice!

F: Nagisa vs Hayate
I pick Nagisa, but now I'm not sure of her triumph. If she wins, it will be after a hard match. Hayate is the last chance for Nanoha faction. Nagisa could fight also against the anti-Key hate if Tomoyo and Fuuko pass to quarter-finals. No predictions for this match. I hope it would be the epic one.

G: Akari vs Tsukasa
Only a miracle could save Akari. That's all.

H: Noe vs Hinagiku
My pick is Noe, but Hinagiku is the favorite one. I don't know. I would like Noe to win but I'm aware that Hayate is a bigger faction than noefags. WTF: Noe is moe & moe is Noe. SaiNoe will win, it doesn't matter if it's because of hate voters. No predictions, only a subjective preference.

Thats basically it. I mean, she is a cute loli and a lot of times that is enough to get my vote.

However, she is up against a pure goddess in Akari........ahhhhh Akari.

hmm...
asking someone why are you moe for a character is just like asking someone why love a certain person...
often times you'll answer "because that person is smart/funny/beautiful/etc..."
but i believe those are just the reason why you admire him/her...
love is just a feeling and it's often hard to describe a feeling...
just like moe, it's also a feeling you feel towards a character that makes you go "kyuun~" it's often hard to describe why you get reactions from such characters...
"because that person is smart/funny/beautiful/etc...", in terms of love, is equals "because she's a loli/ meido/ psycho/etc", in terms of moe...

to summarize...
2 people can be smart/beautiful/funny but you only love one and hate the other...

2 characters can be a loli/meido/psycho but you're ony extremely moe for one and extremely hate the other...

in a few words...

"My moe is not equals to your moe"

Tamaki support is Japan. Nothing will stop Tamaki from being raped by foreign votes, but Japan will make up for what was lost.

I don't really like Nagisa, but CLANNAD-Combo is perfect!

If a member hangs around in the ISML thread quite often, he or she picks up the habit of combining both Best Moe and Saimoe. So yeah, Suiseiseki's a two-time champion.

One of the things i noted in current Saimoe 2008:

Gaijin are often accused of pushing through KyoAni characters in the past, voting en masse for them. Some of the Japs even accused us for distorting their contest, hence ever tighter IP restrictions this year. Now, with most of the foreigners banned (or next to impossible to vote), KyoAni characters make their best showings in Final 16 with 6 characters. Moreover, Kotomi and Konata are KO'ed by Tomoyo. And if the voting of Group H1 Round 2 (Isumi vs. Noe vs. Mei) happens today, who knows who the winner will be after the airing of episode 3 of After Story?

Ironic, isn't it?

I rather not wait an hour or more to get a code to get even more despair from the results. I tried voting in Haruka vs Fuuko and a couple of other matches with kyoani in them, but never was in the house when my code arrived. And looking at the numbers my vote wouldn't have changed anything anyway. (EXCEPT FOR RIKA. BAH.)

I'm starting to mix all the contests in one big blob. Need to seperate. Though I still was suprised. It's almost a habit considering ISML was my first moe contest thing I voted in.

I find Hina extremely moe, but I also really really like Noe. Noe is moe. I'm going for the underdog (if Noe can be considered one) in this match. Either way I win.

I do have to wonder what would happen if they did succeed in somehow banning all foriegners... kanashii kangae desu ne? i can understand the reasons (which I dont think are worth discussing in this thread), but it would be a little saddening for me...

but it would be interesting to see how the tourny would play out... I'm sure it wouldnt really be as different as it is now in reality.

hmm.. not sure if I am ready to make up my mind on the block finals yet... noe vs hina is very hard... kagami vs kyou is kinda like a bad dream where two sides of the same persona crash (kinda) ... the others I guess actually arnt as hard for me... but I want to be swayed... that is what I enjoyed of saimoe last year.

FOR HANYUU. for some reason i didnt find fuuko all that moe..maybe even abit annoying but thats my opinion and she seems a very strong opponent B: Kirino vs Mikan kirino seems to have a slightly bigger fanbase then mikan although i dont have any real feelings for either of them C: Kagami vs Kyou oh lol i really dont like either but kagami is more moe in my definition of it but i really cant call anything D: Tomoyo vs Miyako ???pass E: Shana vs Tamaki Ah shana was my 4th pick and although tmaki the kendo playing slightly-otaku-ish character is very moe, it doesnt suite my taste :P also shana is one of the bigger contenders i wouldnt be suprised to see her win this one but bamboo blade has a decent amount of people.. Kagami vs Kyou Too close to call, but I'll put Kagami due to bias. Tomoyo vs Miyako Clannad is too strong for Hidamari Sketch. Shana vs Tamaki Another tough match to call. Going with Tamaki since she's a fresh face and I think people will be attracted to that. Nagisa vs Hayate Clannad may go 4/4 into the top 8!? Akari vs Tsukasa Again, ARIA can't compete with LS. Noe* vs Hinagiku Already a solid competitor by herself, but with strategy in play, Noe should start favorite. Spoiler for My Votes: Fuko vs Hanyuu Fuko has outstayed her welcome. Kirino vs Mikan Haven't seen Mikan's show. Kagami vs Kyou Kagami forever! (See sig). Tomoyo vs Miyako Many lulz were had due to Miyako.
