It's because magic is only used to create the ice and is not needed to maintain the structure. However, the ice golem and the sisters' clothing are maintained and held together by magic. So once the magic is dispelled, they fall apart. Take for instance that a magic user uses their magic to transform a steal bar into a sword. Even if Touma does touches the sword with his Imagine Breaker, it won't turn back into a steal bar since there isn't any magic in it any more. The ice itself is actually a phenomena created by moving the freezing point of the seawater and can be done by either magic or science.

By the way, in case anyone was wondering why they didn't mind firing at their own ship (aside from being who they are), it's because as long as the flagship is functioning, they could easily rebuild those escort ships over and over again using the infinite seawater as a resource.

Also in case people were wondering, the Amakusa kept hold of Angese's Lotus Staff since her defeat in the previous, previous, previous arc.

Forgive me for my ignorance, but why does Itsuwa want to create events and raise flags with Touma? Is it part of some scheme to find out more about him or are they trying to put her between him and Kaori?

I can understand that IB cannot reverts something back to its original shape, considering the spell itself has already affected the said object already.
However, wouldn't they need magic to maintain the ice? I mean, it isn't like they are in an environnement below the freezing point, are they?
Heck, not only the boat hull is in constant contact with water of a different temperature, but even the sails are made of ice, so magic should affect it as it cannot be a wind powered vessel, shouldn't it?

Indeed, I speculate that certain parts of the ship still needs magic like the sails for example or the cannons, but it seems that those areas are isolated from the rest of the ship much like the golems were.

Kamijo prods on the deck with his finger. It’s definitely something similar to ice, the skin sticks to the surface upon contact. It’s not cold; it’s slightly warm like plastic…but ice freezes at 0 degrees Celsius under atmospheric pressure, which is common knowledge. Under several conditions however, the freezing and boiling point can be changed. There exists ice at 20 degrees Celsius and steam at 80 degrees Celsius.

So even if it’s ice, the floor isn’t slippery. The reason why ice is slippery is because the surface of the ice would melt into water, reducing friction. By changing the melting point, even if the ice touches human skin, it won’t melt, so there won’t be any water on it. This magical stuff probably won’t break even with Kamijo’s right hand touching it, and would have a similar kind of effect as Stiyl’s ‘Innocentius’.

Well too bad the cast in Index will *cough* never have the same VA for another character doing them (most of the time), Jouji Nakata already did Ouma though. "Uncle George" Nakata/Norio Wakamoto voices seem a bit too old for that dude though, but that's just my impression.

Well, good thing this series doesn't include Norio Wakamoto and Nakata Jouji's characters in the same frame in a screen. Else the world would be overcame by awesomeness of blinding light I fear this show will be renamed A Certain <insert phrase fitting for the two here>.
