Suigintou no Koyoi mo Ennu~i Vol. 4 CD

The future of a third Rozen Maiden anime series remains up in the air. But the upcoming release of Vol. 4 in the Suigintou no Koyoi mo Ennu~i (Suigintou's It's Ennui Again, Tonight) radio CD series affirms the continuing popularity of one of its characters, Suigintou (aka Gin-sama aka Tanaka Rie).

CD Rozen Maiden Web Radio Bara no Kaori no Garden Party Bangai Hen Suigintou no Koyoi mo Ennu~i Vol.4

Release Date: April 23, 2008

Animate Price: 2,940 yen (tax included)

P.S. Release of the Suigintou no Koyoi mo Ennu~i Web Radio CD Vol. 4 has been canceled. Copyright issues may be the root cause.

The person on the Internet who falsely claims "Rie Tanaka voicing characters with no personality before Tomoe [Marguerite in My-Otome]" obviously does not know what he is talking about. Suigintou (Rozen Maiden), Sanada-san (UFO Princess Valkyrie), Towa-chan (DNAngel), Kiku Takane in Ring ni Kakero 1, et al., preceded Tomoe and have loads of personality.

Kung Panda Director Mark Osborne Says Film Strongly Influenced By Anime

While in Japan to promote the opening of the Kung Fu Panda CG animated theatrical feature from DreamWorks in theaters across Japan on Saturday, July 26, 2008, Kung Fu Panda director Mark Osborne stated that Japanese animation (Japanese anime) heavily influenced and inspired the making of the Kung Fu Panda movie (2008).

Osborne said they watched a lot of anime while making this film. According to Osborne, they borrowed, among other things, a lot of anime's action techniques and timing. They want to pay tribute to Japanese animation, which gave them a lot of inspiration.

Osborne was asked what Japanese anime influenced Kung Fu Panda?

Osborne answered Ninja Scroll (Juubei Ninpuuchou) (1993; directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri), Cowboy Bebop (1998; directed by Shinichiro Watanabe), FLCL (2000; directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki), Samurai Champloo (2004; directed by Shinichiro Watanabe), etc. And, lastly, the works of Hayao Miyazaki, whom he and all the Kung Fu Panda staff respect.

Source: Mantan Web (Mainichi Shimbun)

While many animators in the West, such as those at Disney and Pixar, openly and proudly acknowledge being greatly influenced and inspired by the works of Hayao Miyazaki, it is nice to see Western animators like Kung Fu Panda director Mark Osborne also cite other Japanese animated works as influences on, and inspiration for, their own works.

According to this Japanese blog, Slayers will be getting a new TV anime adaptation.

The anime was announced in the April 2008 issue of the young men's light novel magazine Dragon Magazine (which will be officially released on 29/2/2008).

Slayers (スレイヤーズ) is a boy's light novel series that's published under the shounen light novel label Fujimi Fantasia Bunko, and serialized in the young men's light novel magazine Dragon Magazine.

Oh God! Really?! The lolification of the Sangoku period is getting an anime. I've actually played a bit of this game and let me tell people, this is no Sengoku Rance, nor is it Dynasty Warriors, nor is it even Ikkitousen. This is just.....well you'll see. And if whoever's doing it can do just one thing. Never mind trying to tell some sort of epic story, but at least try not to make the art suck at the very least.

And Slayers might actually give Megumi Hayashibara something to do again.
