Okay just watched ep.8
Focussed on Kana, Choi and Dera .Weight loss on Dera, Kana and her antics. I'm surprise he got "macho" in just one day, probably pooped alot. Anyways no Mochizou here, glad Shiori had some air time and alot of classical music. The older folks being themselves...Choi going to school. That's about it. Good episode, not much of laughs, Iam more interested in the preview. 7/10 Spoiler for ep.9:

Takemoto also did key animation for this episode, as well as some other notable people. Most notable cut would be the dinner scene I think. Actually meaty walking animation, and drawn at that high angle even! all while the other characters were constantly moving and changing expressions, it was pretty nice to watch. Good use of framing there to show the whole situation in a single static shot without missing details, of course it only worked because the animation complemented it perfectly.
I liked some other parts, like Choi checking her looks on the water, and the beginning part with Dera's "house" was kinda lively as well. |

I lost it when they played the music and showed Dera's horrified expressions after the girls announced his diet in episode 8. For some reason, those two classical pieces fitted perfectly with those scenes.
I like Choi. She's curious about the new culture she landed herself in, but refuses to give in to the various temptations around her (even though it's not really working all that well). I wonder what is up with the whole scent thing. They seem to portray either Tamako or Anko as the potential bride for the prince, but something tells me there's more going on, since she stays at their home, and didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary.

As for this episode, Kanna's "evil" methods to ensure that Dera's stays on his diet were indeed a hoot.

Tamako Market 08 - Angry Bird
This was probably one of my favorite episodes of the series. Dela was in it, but he was the butt of jokes. That makes the comedy work so well. Someone has to take the fall when comedy is involved, and an egomaniac like the bird is the perfect foil for such a thing. Kanna also confirms her role as the force of chaos. Tama and Choi are friends in a heartwarming way, Midori and Choi are friends in a clothes shopping way, but Kanna and Choi are the pairing I want to see more of. The comedy with them around just works perfectly. The use of Beethoven's 5th was really well done, too. Apparently, when it concerns tight spaces, Dela is a liquid. (Yes, I'm thinking of a picture of a cat I saw on Facebook recently. Image macros and their ability to stick to the corners of my brain.) It won't be long before winter and New Years' and Tama's birthday pull around. This show is probably going to do a spectacular Christmas episode. |

Look for leaks to come around the 6-8th of the month as that's when the three big magazines come out (Newtype/Animage/Animedia) which feature these lists. They may/may not include titles/summaries (which I'll leave out due to laziness/spoilers).
