Keeping in mind that this is well after the family lawyer showed up, I wonder who visited her?

It might have been her parents, still ashamed of her apparent mental breakdown two years ago but still concerned for her...

Spoiler for Black and White:

It could be her other relatives like an uncle or aunt.

Spoiler for Speculative theory (SAO-AW Connection):

No, I'm pretty sure that people missed it. Like I said, no one I noticed remarked upon the possibility of Kuroyuki really being 700 years old. Even when people did remark on her being older than her chronological age, it was generally in a context of a handful of years, not a handful of centuries. Even with people being more interested in those things, I would expect it to generate at least a bit more of a stir. The whole point of casually tossing off how if you spent three days inside, 3 years would have passed for you was to bring home the insane amounts of time Kuroyuki and Niko must have spent in the field. But it seems to have gone over people's heads.

Maybe it has, but I know that I was thinking it.

However, I didn't want to suggest a number without more evidence. Therefore, my conservative guess is that KYH is subjectively 50 years old, at least.

Any guess is probably as good as mine anyway, so a snippet from V7:

Chrome Falcon is a Level 5 Linker, and by his guesstimation he's spent five accelerated years of playtime, which makes his mental age about 13.

Time to revise our guesses downwards: I'd say, KYH is mentally about 20. I discounted a couple years because she spent two RL years hiding.

20 is reasonable. More experience and maturity than a middle-schooler ought to have, but not so much that she's unflappable.

And little romantic experience, of course.

Still, reaching Level 9 requires a lot more time and dungeon-crawling team-raids than it takes to get to level 5. Silver Crow is now Level 5, but few people have ever reached 8.

Chrome Falcon got there after just a year of playing, a chunk of which he wouldn't have had access to the unlimited field. Kuroyuki claimed to Megumi that she'd spent more time than anyone in the country accelerated. Even if she only spent as much time as Chrome Falcon did per year, she'd be in her mid thirties.

And I kind of doubt that recalling Niko's line of "If you knew how much time that girl and I spent in the accelerated world..." right after a discussion of how easy it was to spend immense amounts of time in the Accel World, was meant for a mere six years spent inside it. Especially as later in volume 6, Niko talks about how once you reach level 9, it's impossible for others to tell how much time you spend in the accelerated world.

What Krono said.

Still, I'm not thinking higher than 50 without evidence.

Asuna + Kirito = KYH? Not true.

Long story short, Kawahara denied it's logical.

A certain user Milkman posted on the Talk page of AW in BT, these two links, here and here.

Like some of us speculated, given KYH's history, if she is indeed their child, it would imply Kirito and Asuna's marriage fell apart.

Unsurprising. Also unsurprising is that he might properly connect the two series when he has a chance.

And there's a lot of additional information in the biography they also posted here.

Original Special Attack: Unknown

LEVEL 2: Unknown

LEVEL 3: Unknown

LEVEL 4 - Death By Barraging: A side-kicking Special Attack, apparently like Chun-Li's lightning leg. Compared to the Level 5 Lagoon Dolphin's rapid-punching Tidal Wave attack, the striking power of each blow might actually be inferior, but Barraging delivers more hits.

LEVEL 5 - Death By Piercing: A Special Attack with the property of One-Hit-Kill. The range is inferior to Death By Barraging, and of course it's just a single strike.

LEVEL 6 - Absolute Cutting Property: The passive effect which improves her blades' cutting ability, allowing her to damage even normally-indestructible objects, such as the Accelerated World's ground floor. Only the Strife and Graphite Edge's swords are immune, though Yellow Radio's baton can get there with effort. Noteably, the Impulse, holy arc sword used by Blue Knight, can be cut by this power. Which means he can never dare to parry her blades with his own without losing his sword for the rest of the fight.

LEVEL 7 - Terminate Sword: A passive effect, such that "even if they were still, Lotus’ swords continued to produce an offensive power corresponding to that of a slash at all times. The result was that when she just guarded her enemy’s attack with her blades, it was the opponent’s fists and feet or weapons that were severed." This is also why Black Vice's plates broke against her, and why grabbing her unmoving blade cut off someone's fingers. Probably, even if her arm was rendered feeble, if she touches you at all, it's as if she struck with her full strength.

LEVEL 8 - Death By Embracing: A Special Attack with the property of One-Hit-Kill. I don't know what its advantages are, compared to Death By Piercing.

LEVEL 9: Unknown

While Kuroyukihime's choices for Level 4, 5 and 8 are canon, her exact choices for Level 6 and 7 are guesses on my part.

The <<Absolute Cutting Property>> which defeats anything in the game less durable than the Strife seems like the kind of insanely powerful upgrade that only becomes available to dedicated, high-level specialists.

Kuroyukihime considers <<Terminate Sword>> to be a reward that she could not have chosen without focusing everything into her blades. Between that and its also frankly-amazing power, I placed it pretty high.

It's hard to guess what other tricks she has up her sleeves. Obviously she needed to start with at least one Special Attack, and she could have as many as three more that we haven't seen yet.

For sure, she absolutely doesn't have any Special Attack which can be used against multiple targets at once, nor any projectile Special Attack. Aside from that, what possibilities are left?

An upper-body version of Death By Barraging, with appropriate differences.

An attack which greatly increases the strength behind a single attack. Death By Piercing may instantly kill anyone she inflicts scratch damage against, but that might not have any effect on environmental objects. "Death By Chopping" might have been an early choice that worked very well until "Piercing" became available, leaving "Chopping" to continue working fine against environmental objects.

On that note, one of her early upgrades might have been increasing the sharpness of her blades, or the damage inflicted when she struck with them. This would be the baby version of <<Terminate Sword>>, or rather the first half of the ability that <<Terminate Sword>> finished.

The Level 8 Black Lotus' performance against the Level 8 Graphite Edge didn't seem to show any radically different passive abilities compared to the Level 9 Lotus. This suggests to me that she chose another Special Attack.

Following the pattern of her Special Attacks, this one is even more difficult to use than Death By Embracing, but even more sure to absolutely kill her target if she can use it at all.

I'd consider the possibility that Kuroyukihime spent an upgrade on improving the durability of her blades, but that's not one of the very specific things she says she focused on. Indeed, she spent months in the Unlimited Neutral Field to develop an <<Out of System Skill>> called Soft Act in order to deal with that weakness.

Likewise, I don't think Kuroyukihime upgraded her levitation ability at all, because that's also nothing like what she said she focused on.

Turns out, Death By Embracing is NOT a one-hit kill attack, as Black Lotus said it would not normally have been enough to one-shot Red Rider. She had to enhance the Special Attack with the Incarnate System to inflict enough damage.

Then, WHAT THE HELL IS THE POINT OF THAT ATTACK?

I wonder if Death By Embracing isn't an attack that became available at Level 8, but that Kuroyukihime had the option much sooner and simply didn't choose it before Level 8.

Like if Silver Crow finally reached Level 8 and decided that he might as well go ahead and buy one of those three upgrades available at Level 2, because none of his newer options seemed any better to him.
