@ Senpai - How does one get that upgrade? Attach some kind of generator on the knife?

Side note - Really? Anyway, this'll lead to some awkwardness later in FI for Kanzashi. Good thing Saito has a blindfold.

Side note - It's played for awkwardness considering they're related. The only reason he even wears it is his sister told him to. Since he's mostly still mentally young, he doesn't realize any implications.

The bulky part is mostly about power source, maybe adding 1-2 inch to the handle (not the blades) and even then the endurance is limited.

The blade itself might be increased in thickness to compensate for the hollowness. maybe by 1-2mm

Well, we're talking about something that can pierce through absolute barrier (granted it has jammer device) and can survive being superheated. Material these days won't be able to do that.

Just list them as unknown advanced alloy. Or maybe I can find different concept for it if you wish.

Retconning that so that it can't pierce AD. It just "tricks" the system into thinking that it's reached its damage limit and temporarily shut down. This lasts for all of 5-10 seconds. The alloy in that situation isn't important, but I need one for actual combat use.

Well, then please cancel the super-heating upgrade and just list plain old Tungsten Carbide (twice as heavy as steel, four times stronger). I'll think about it later.

Well, in reality ultra-vibration doesn't work that way, but may still useful.

In fact, High-frequency vibration is made so it can damage hard surface and NOT flesh.

Take bone saw for example, they can easily slice through flesh like nothing, but when vibrates, it only jiggle the flesh, but as then name implies, dig through the bone.

Maybe the upgrade can be used for destroying solid material such as wood.

@ Demi - He's a bog standard human and his enemy's are the Infinite Stratos (Aka walking nukes). What's he gonna do? An Anti-tank rifle wouldn't help him at all, so there's nothing else that can. Besides, the knifes mostly used for unconventional things like opening vents, jamming machinery etc etc.

@ Senpai - Can a knife block a larger blade?

The idea of using hyper vibrations is either to cause a blade to shake and therefore reproduce a cutting motion thousands of times a minute, heat the object until it has enough heat to melt the target, or it shakes the molecular structure of the object itself till it falls apart atom by atom.

This is also the reason why magnetized solid blade > beam saber in defense, it has mass and consistency

@ Demi - He does use flashbangs, chaffs, and mini grenades. He stops using them after finding out how utterly useless some of them are. Flashbangs are useless since the IS can see through it and mini grenades don't even distract it. Chaff's actually jam the systems for a precious few seconds, so he keeps them. Besides, his segments are stealth. If he gets seen, chances are he's fucked up and dead unless Tatenashi or somebody else saves him. That's why they're partnered together.

Yeah... I'm wondering about that myself now. It said that the Hyper Sensors improves the pilot's senses. However, I have a feeling that it can also be used against them.

If a person without the Hyper Sensors were to get hit by a stun grenade (or flashbang), then he/she will get all disoriented.

If a pilot with the Hyper Sensors were to get hit by a stun grenade, wouldn't the effects be a lot worse because of the pilot's senses are improved by the Hyper Sensors?

If that's true, then talk about having a double edge sword. And that can be useful for my guys.
