Mm, this episode.....

Oh Itami you lucky bastard. Having not one but two girls sleeping with him. Funny stuff, especially with Pina and her friend curious about the logic of "BL" lol. I think the other girls are really starting to get used to the modern culture too. I also thought the girls looked cute this episode:


Some bits of fan service though with the girls. I think BDs will remove the censor....particularly the mist.

Neat episode overall. Liked the balance of the relaxing atmosphere in the first half with the military and political affairs for the remainder.

One of the more overblown scenes in the story by haters of the show was not used in this episode, and curiously it had no effect on the plot. There was basically no need for the Japanese government to identify the agents they killed as Americans, because the PotUS was always going to call them about the incident straight after anyway.

So this episode was full fanservice, the second half they change the scene with Rory a bit but that makes Itami looks like a fag.

Next episode is the confrontation between the special forces and CERSORSHIP.

It is entirely sensible for Itami to think twice about actually having physical relations with Rory. He is a soldier who is designated as her guide, so there is a professional issue there. There is, I believe, a standing restriction by the JSDF on sexual contact with the GATE population due to both political and biohazard concerns. Lastly, Itami hates complications, and sex with Rory the Reaper is not going to be something that could be brushed off later. There would have been unforeseen long term consequences and he HATES that.

I'm talking comparing this episode with the original source, there is no complications more than some political issues but Rory is not affiliated with any organization like Pinya for example, so that is not an impediment and JSDF have zero restrictions about relationships with people of the new world as far as I can remember. Just to be clear on that scene Itami was more manly and actually "something" happens, everything you posted are just excuses.

A woman has the right to ask for sex. But a man has the right to refuse too. I do not consider it a slight on Itami's character that he would think twice about having sex with someone he doesn't know very well. This is not suppose to be a weird thing.

And? that has nothing to do with my post, I'm talking about the story and how the scene was modified in the adaptation, nothing more than that. That modificiacion was not bad but it was not a good thing.

I liked this episode; it somewhat fulfilled my desire for more of that "culture shock/culture clash". It seems like Risa's work has transformed Pina and Bozes' tastes in the literature. For better or for worse, though? Who knows. And lol at the US's underhanded tactics. We rock!

More interesting information about Itami. I think he's been in communication with the Defense Minister at least since he brought the refugees back to Alnus Base, and they made some contingency plans well before bringing the girls through the Gate back to Japan. That conversation they had by the lake really made me feel that way.

Cliffhangers that make you scream are SOP for Gate, apparently! Now watch them not have one for a few episodes, and then slap us with one when it really counts.

That shot of Kuribayashi sleeping at the resort reminded me of an aspect of my experience with women in uniform. When I saw them off duty in civilian clothes, many times the difference was incredible. My platoon once made fun of me when I honestly didn't recognize one of the Staff Officers we'd been working with for almost a month when we saw her off duty coming out of a theater.

The first half of this episode is pretty fun... Risa is more normal than what I think before
and Rory tsundere mode is pretty cute.. especially when she found that goth-loli dress

looks like first romance thing would not be between main character but Bozes and a soldier... well I kinda like that Tomita dude so it is okay for me

the second half left a little sour taste as we know for sure that Rory's advance toward Itami would be blocked for sure by that American special agents
I just hope Rory didn't kill any of them as it would bring another dispute in the future
I wonder how they will get away though.. as they just lost their support from the government

last thing is... at first I thought it is Risa that marry Itami without love.. but it turns out that Itami is the one that marry Risa without love and they just freshly divorced
Special Force stuff is the one to be blamed over breaking this family... well, seems like they would find a hard time to build a new relation based on love this time

Yay, for more underhanded politics from the USA! Also, of course the American special forces are nothing compared to the Japanese special forces. They're nothing but amateurs in comparison of course.

Anyway, the beginning half of the episode was pretty cute. The second half was okay, though I the Rory scene was a little blah for me. Not my cup of tea.
