I really don't think that's how Sunrise works.

It's far more likely they had already planned to make another season.

well, I remember a few years ago the Sunrise challenged the government in favor of Gintama, I like to think that this is a studio that truly love doing anime.

WMG outside is that they're making ad-hoc changes to cope with the Second Season, but at least it's coming this autumn, so it's hard to say if IBO is a good series or not. Time to tell.

My main complaint about IBO was that the pacing wasn't appropriate for a 25 episodes series, but since there will be a second season, then that problem isn't one anymore.

The Mika vs Ein fight is nail-bittingly awesome, it must be seen to be believed. Spoiler: Unfortunately Mika gave in to the AV system and got his right eye and arm handicapped. Maybe not for life, or he can use he when piloting Barbatos, nothing's sure right now. At least he earned that adorable OTT scene near the end so that's a fair tradeoff...... About the casualties this episode: Spoiler: It's probably just me, but I actually want to see Azee and Lafter bite it. At least Shino and Azee got warapped by bandages but Lafter? Without any injuries? Seriously? It tones downs the seriousness and bloodshed covered by the series by A LOT, and mde Ein's efforts for naught. It's pretty much the most disappointing element in the episode. Gaelio, on the other hand, you can't help but feel sorry for him by being turned into minced tuna by McGills, all while hearing that SOB about his plans to overthrow the Gjallahorn's current system, while admitted using HIM AND CARTA to do so, and for good measure saying that he'll take care of Almiria. Time to tell. __________________ Obviously ,hope is the first step to the road of disappointment. But no fear, people can only overcome disappointment when one still has hope in the mind.
