They better bring back the original cast. If I'm not mistaken, they were also retained in the drama CDs.

The official website has just updated with additional cast, character profiles and staff. Those interested may compare with the original cast now.

I'm personally a total newbie to the franchise so I can't comment on most of these updates, except one: I'm just excited that the opening theme will be by abingdon boys school. I adored Blade Chord which was used as the opening theme for the Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes game.

I'm a huge fan of the main series games (not so much of Cross) and can't wait to see the result.
But I'm also awfully cautious about this. I don't like the anime design so much, taking SB1&2 artistic one over it anytime.

Let's wait and see.

Is that Yukimura and Masamune in the poster? With Nobunaga in the background?

I've checked the cast, I didn't see any changes~ (someone correct me plz~)
I wonder if they will have all the characters in it, because so far the listed ones are:
Date Masamune
Sanada Yukimura
Katakura Kojuro
Takeda Shingen
Sarutobi Sasuke
Uesugi Kenshin
Kasuga
Azai Nagamasa
Oichi
Akechi Mitsuhide
Mori Ranmaru
Noh-hime
Oda Nobunaga

Hmm, I hope they will include the Maeda clan (for the lulz~)

Hey, I remember playing this game. It definitely had an anime feel to it. Can't wait for this.

I had played the first game. The character I use most often was Date Masamune. In the sequel, there is Katakura Kojuro.. I wonder how his moves are. As for a side on Sengoku Basara, I would pick Noh-hime, since her gun attacks are quite useful, unless the enemy is Hondam; the huge guy that wears heavy armor and wield a powerful axe. I never come close in beating him, even when I had picked Date Masamune. The closest was like reducing his HP to the 60% mark. He is strong..

I was unaware that an anime was being done for Sengoku Basara. I just found out today and looked at the anime site. I might watch this due to me liking the games, and I am wondering how this will go in anime form. As for Hondam/IronOx, it took me a while to come up with a plan to beat him in the first game. I eventually took him out with Date, but that was with certain gear equiped and that I spammed his torpedo move then would go into his super mode when the gage filled up.

This is surely the second anime that I waiting more for the spring season and I hope that they do a good work with animation and characters, because the chara and the story is very good.
I've only played the first of Sengoku Basara, so not the second or Heroes and i read the manga of the first game (that was awesome)
My favorite character for the game and manga was Sanada Yukimura, and I loved seeing the relationship of rivalry he had with Date Masamune (something awesome that I have rarely seen as among Kazuma and Ryuho, and fortunately we haven't a woman who change suddenly their life or brainwashing them with words and their hell philosophies of life) xDD

Basically what S_B said. It was really really silly, but entertaining in its own way.

I think those are the special handles for his extra swords.

Well, his exploits were fairly well-known in Japan, so anyone who knows that period of history would recognise and appreciate the spoofs in the series.

Epic!

Gorgeous first episode. Shounen-fan in me shed so much tears of joy that I didn't even question the pool of water and the upturned cup next to it.

Give Zoro six sword, one eye-patch, a horse, and engrish speaking ability... voila... he is now Masamune. Is there any Nakai Kazuya role that doesn't scream awesome? Because if there is, shut yer yaappin.. I don't wanna hear about it. His voice is made to give life to epic shounen figures. If history was as cool as this, I would have paid more attention in class instead of snoring away.

I know this episode is going to be a gif-makers dream. The visual in the opening theme alone will keep a decent gif-maker awake many nights. It was so much made of win.

*Gives first episode an 8 aka very good rating.* Spring season is away with very strong start. Let's see how many other series can come close to the fun this show was able to project in it's first episode, and may even dare try topping it.

mon, you forgot to mention Yukimura. It bends the mind when you remember that it's JC Yamato behind that voice.
