Hello,

I am looking for an anime or manga that has a main character with a straight up personality, with resolve and not half ass. I do not mind if he is a villain.

Anything similar to Area D, ICHIBAN USHIRO NO DAIMAOU, Berserk, GTO, Fist of the north star/blue sky or Hagure Yuusha no Estetica.

For anime why don't you give Seikon no Qwasar, Bakemonogatari, To Aru Majutsu no Index, and Angel Beats!! a shot.

For manga I can suggest Holy Land and Lost+Brain.

So what do you think?

Steins;Gate, Fullmetal Alchemist (original and/or Brotherhood)

The protagonists in those two anime are full of kick ass and are definitely full of personality

I actually do not like Full Metal Alchemist or majority of the list suggested besides To Aru Majutsu no Index and Brain+Lost.

Some of the ones I already seen and like are Hokuto no Ken, Souten no Ken, Hellsing, A fairytale for the demon lord, Bastards!!, Crying Freeman, Togari, X-gene, Lycanthrope Leo, Judas and 3x3 Eyes.

Seirei no Moribito. As long as you have no issues with the main character being female.
