10. Kidou Senshi SD Gundam Mk. II (OTHER) UC SERIES

A parody of the videogame RPG genre, "Gundam Legend" has Amuro, Kamille and Judau sent on a perilous quest to rescue the princess of the Zeta Kingdom from Char Aznable and his vicious Zeon MS forces.

Now, the Earth Federation continues to weaken as the spaceborn Zanscare Empire attempts to conquer Earth. Only the AEUG-like League Militaire stands in their way, and their secret weapon is the mass-produced Victory Gundam. Unlike the kiddie pleaser Gundam ZZ, V Gundam returns to the darker roots of Z Gundam and is considered by many to be the best UC series after Z Gundam. Currently, V Gundam has the distinction of being the final animated series set in the Universal Century. Following the end of this series in early 1994, Sunrise began producing the Alternate Universe series.

More than just a regular movie, this was actually a combination of animation and CG projected on three screens simultaneously, giving an experience similar to an IMAX/OmniMAX theater. A DVD release is therefore unlikely.

33. Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Movie I - The Empty Battlefield (MOVIE) FIRST GUNDAM OF 21ST CENTURY

The feature subtitled "The Empty Battlefield" is comprised of recut episodes of Gundam Seed (2002), with some bits of new animation--a practice that goes back to the original Gundam series (1979) and the first three features. This film includes material from the first 20 Seed episodes, or about one-third of the series.

In the year 71 of the Cosmic Era (rather than the "Gundam Saga" timeframe or the "Alternate Universe"), Kira Yamoto accidentally becomes a mecha pilot when he stumbles onto the top secret Strike Gundam during an attack on his home satellite-colony, Heliopolis. Although the war is technically between the Earth Alliance and ZAFT, it's really a conflict between the human "Naturals" and the genetically enhanced "Coordinators." The movie and the broadcast series offer the ingredients of a classic Gundam saga: a reluctant warrior, a masked enemy general, and an old friend who tests the hero's loyalty. Cutting the running time so substantially moves the action along a breakneck pace, but leaves little time for character development. Director Mitsuo Kukada uses CG to choreograph some very snazzy mecha battles, in space, within Heliopolis, and on Earth, often with a fine disregard for the laws of physics.

36. Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Movie II - The Far-Away Dawn (MOVIE) FIRST GUNDAM OF 21ST CENTURY

This is a recap with new footage from episodes 22 to 40.

Much like the Mobile Suit Gundam theatrical movies, the Gundam SEED Special Edition movies are intended to be an override of the story from the TV series.

These episodes are in fact a complete recap of all 50 episodes of the TV series and only shown on television in Japan. The Special Edition episodes feature some new scenes and tweaks to previously animated scenes. The first special, 'The Empty Battlefield', which was episodes 1 to 21 of the series, was aired in two parts on Japanese TV in March 2004, followed by the next special, 'The Distant Dawn', which was episodes 22 to 40, in July. The final special, 'The Rumbling Universe', which was episodes 41 to 50. While the story is overall unchanged, there are a few minor changes. In addition, several scenes are re-animated and re-dubbed.

It is believed that these movies were cut to better transition the story between SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny. Others believe also that the special editions were made to correct or add things that wasn't in the TV series from time or budget reasons. It's been mistakly referred to that this is in fact recapped episodes. While that might be the case, they're still movies in their own right. During the war, Shin Asuka was involved in Earth Alliance`s intrusion into Orb. While he was escaping from the fire, he lost his parents and little sister before his face. When he was deep in sorrow gripping her cellular phone, which is the only memento, a Mobile Suit Gundam, which was the principal cause of the war, was flying over his head. The first main character is Furitto Asuno, who developed the Gundam AGE-1 mobile suit (humanoid mobile weapon) equipped with the AGE System (a self-adapting computer). The second main character is Asemu Asuno, Furitto's child. The third main character is Kio Asuno, Furitto's descendant who inherits the Gundam. The Gundam AGE-1 can be augmented as the Gundam AGE-1 Titus for more power, or as the Gundam AGE-1 Sparrow for more speed.

Other characters include Emily, Furitto's friend since he was 7. Guruudekku is a Commander in the Earth Federation Forces and the captain of the battleship Diva. Mireesu is a Lieutenant (junior grade) in the Federation Forces aboard the Diva.

ZZ Gundam. I liked the characters a lot and it was pretty funny. It also has the best Opening Gundam music.

Then it's Victory, G, Wing, F91 and 08th MS Team..

I think I like the original Mobile Suit Gundam series the best. The one that started it all. I also like all the other UC series' too.

Yes I can. Turn A shows the cruelty of war without all the unnecessary bloodshed. It's Tomino at his best.
Speaking of Turn A, it's at second place! Yay! I must say I'm surprised and impressed at the same time...there is justice in this world after all
Come on, more for Turn A

(If I could vote more, second place for me goes to 0079 Movies, third place goes to Zeta/SEED)

I had a hard time deciding between Turn A and Zeta, but I like Camille more than Loran so Zeta took the cake..

How could anyone like Camille more than Loran Kinda hard to understand. But I guess I just have a general distaste for angsty whiney kids.

It's slow at first. It picks up after we see Loran in a dress. Turn A is also "character driven", something rarely seen in mecha these days...

For me Zeta and Seed. I chose seed eventually though. Zeta is just a great story with great chars and all yeah i know... but ive got this thing heh, i only have 7 gig left (of the 70 gig C drive ), and the only way to get more space is to delete the seed series. But i simply cant press the "delete button". Its to hard for me Well i wanna make backups but that will cost alot of money and dvds So because of the feeling for seed i simply choose that serie

Turn a gundam with out a doubt. No other gundam series brought me even remotely close to shedding a tear. After finishing Turn A i was brought to tears. The series was just so magnificient in all aspects, it deserves to be called the best.
