The "Mai Rings" are called "Techigai" XD Now really, I think it was never mention the name, was it? I know that the green "6" shaped thingies are called magatama but I don't have a clue about the real name.

The My-HiME PS2 game had a kanji of Mai's Element which is called "天輪" or literally, "Heavenly Wheel/Ring". Just for the hell of it, here's a full list of names of the Elements (for the HiME in the PS2 game):

Mai: 天輪 - Tenrin - Heavenly Wheel/Ring
Natsuki: ELER
Mikoto: Miroku (they say this is her weapon and doesn't list her Element)
Miyu: Angel Feather
Sakuya (hehe): 紅月鎌 - Kougetsuren - Crimson Moon Scythe
Midori: I can't find the kanji for this one

While there are other HiME, unfortunately, that's all the names they've revealed.

When Mikoto stated thay Mai was Hime too, Mai looked to her element and said "This is a Techigai." She was referring that her being a Hime was a mistake. But because she looked to the element and said "this is a Techigai" Mikoto thought she was telling her the name of her element. That was why Mikoto said "Oh so that's called a Techigai! This is Miroku!" She misunderstood or must correctly saying, didn't understand what Mai said. So in short: Mai was referring to her being and Hime but Mikoto though she was speaking about the element.

Can't wait. Just a note, that book is actually a light novel (with several illustrations), not the manga. The release date is February 9th. I guess the manga version will come later in February.

I thought she would be blonde, too. Something about her initial sketches reminded me of Rosalie.

Anyone know who "橘セブン氏" is because he will have a hand in illustrating the pictures along with Hisayuki for this novel. He's also drawing for the manga version.

橘セブン reads Tachibana Seven. (Yes, Seven as in 7, the number.) It's someone's name, obviously. Never heard of this person though, but he/she will also be illustrating the manga aswell. Why this person had his/her name changed to "Seven" for his/her professional career is beyond me. 氏 only refers to it being a name of a person, it is not part of the person's name.
