It's less that I want 26 episodes of PB and more that I want 24-26 episodes of Battle Tendency. I absolutely agree that Phantom Blood doesn't need that big an episode count to be done right but Battle Tendency does. Battle Tendency doesn't start off as slow paced as Phantom Blood does and therefore it would be harder to cut stuff out in order to condense it into 13 episodes or so because more of it is relevant, Between a slightly slow paced Phantom Blood adaption (2 chapters an episode isn;t THAT slow people) and a rushed Battle Tendency adaption, I'd rather have the former. After what happened to Zetman I'd rather not take any chances, but that's just me.

Yeah, is that slow.. dragging 5 vol to 26 episode is just the worst case.

There is a lot DRAMA and dialogue in earlier part, but thing move faster in anime.. and Araki use giant ass panel in doing thing not like OP for example, its more like Bleach..

Unless they gonna put 6 minute recap in every episode, I have no idea how they can drag this to 26 episode.

Scrap that anyway, whatever the case that's nightmare. Even Araki already redoing PB with SBR, screw the world if we got super slow PB adaptation.

Okay, now that episode 1 has aired, I guess the discussion about whether they're going to spend 26 episodes on Phantom Blood can be dead and buried. :P

I surely had some fears similar to zetman, considering how fast and furious the pace was for the first episode: this is definitely not a "non manga reader" friendly, and you can see the details for the mood and the visual style (although the face shading looks as if every characters were in front of a window

).
That said, some cuts were a bit too crude (especially Danny scenes, although that saves us from Araki's "love" for animals

), so I hope it is just because they wanted to deal with Phantom Blood intro quickly.

I love that they kept the sound effects. It makes the action look even more fabulous. The visuals are pretty neat too. It looks old school and new at the same time.

As for the plot, I had forgotten just how much of a douche Dio is.

What an asshole. And let's not even talk about what he did to that poor dog later on...

I'm glad the pace of Phantom Blood is so fast (based on the preview, ep 2 should at least go up to chapter 9) since that means we'll get Battle Tendency sooner. I can't wait for animated young Joseph!

I hope the anime includes the strange body proportions of the characters at times where its basically a head on a mountain of muscle.

I loved how they made this have the same touch as the manga. Especially how they actually have the words *Don!* and *Bang!* on the animation which the manga was also quite famous for lol.

Jonathan coming into bash Dio was funny to watch.

I havent seen it yet, kinda wanna watch the raws, but i guess i can wait a lil bit more and wait for proper subs. The show's first episode kinda raised alot positive views on the internet, and so far, everyone seems happy with the current pace that the episode is going. I guess they just wanna dump Phantom Blood so badly, and move on to Battle Tendency where Sugita-sama will perform its magic tricks and stupid gags.

Ps : Seems that NANI WO SURU DA has slowly becoming a meme on the internet... kind of funny seeing that line being abused like hell in many BBS and forums.

I always wanted to see this anime since it is old school shounen that has spawned many memes along with FotNS. Surprised this hasn't been licensed yet, but who knows. I'll wait for proper subs to give my opinion on JoJo.

Nutbladder's release is out. I'm holding off until Tuesday to watch it (and maybe a higher quality release will be out), since the anime club all agreed to watch this.

I've read the first 3 volumes of Stage 1, so I basically know what's going to happen, so spoilers aren't much of a concern right now.

For those who have seen it, how many chapters did it cover? That should give a good indication of how far we'll get in 26 episodes.

The first episode roughly went through... the first 5 chapters, so yeah, they really covered a lot with this single ep.
So my bet is that they might be able to finish Battle Tendency with the 26 episodes.

It's not being licensed anytime soon due to MASSIVE musical references throughout the entirety of the manga.

This was pretty fucking awesome.

The NTR part kind of sucked, but the rest of it, the roughness of it all, the weird lineart, the blood spatter worked wonderfully together. By the end, I've realized just how fast the story was moving, but I didn't care.

So this gets even crazier, huh? Can't wait for more.

Basically the entire childhood arc. The second episode will feature the grown up Jonathan and Dio. They're moving really quickly, as they should, because the sooner they get Phantom Blood out of the way, the more episodes they have for Battle Tendency, which is what fans really want to see anyway. :P

Wow, after being mentally tested, I feel that today's anime were saved thanks to this. It was so damn interesting to watch, I didn't even feel time flying by. The SE occasionally being visible and such "weird" stuff were funny because they happened so suddenly, but I didn't really felt they were that great. But maybe that was because I was eager to see what happened next. Dang, Dio's evilness. I hope Jojo will be saved eventually. It felt great when Jojo was able to headbutt Dio.
