Beyond wiki, do we any more information on the different organisations in Academy City? Like the objectives of SCHOOL or ITEM or MEMBER? I get the idea that GROUP acts like a regulatory organisation that ensures the balance between these organisations, but I'm still picking at wild guesses here.

Problem is, they're introduced so late. Most likely the organizations are just factions of espers.
GROUP just happens to be under supervision of aleister.

The 1st season of Index covers vol 1-6 of the novels, and there are 19 novels out up to this date.

It's still ongoing and I doubt its gonna end soon. So there's plenty of material for them to use if ever they're going to produce another season.

I estimate they have enough for 3 24-episode series excluding some unmentioned material. So I'm guess they'll be making at least one OVA in the middle.

This one's baffling me after finishing Index.

Is Aogami Pierce the name of the guy with Tsuchimikado and Touma? Is it translated as Aogami Pierce or it's not a name but translates as "Blue-hair-and-piercings"?

Blue har and piercings! Its not a nickname but rather a description of his looks. So I wonder on what's his real meaning in touma's world for him a friend not being revealed its name. Isn't that kinda fishy?
