For some inputs, the arcade stick is superior, though. Like that Lambda's Crescent combo that I keeps on failing with my controller.

I'm a controller-only player and while I believe an arcade stick is generally superior (especially if you intend to be competitive), I'm too lazy (and well, unwilling to let money outta my wallet) to learn another control /input system. I think it also kinda depends on the character one plays (I main Hazama now, with Jin and Litchi as subs. I can pull off all the combos for Hazama and Jin but having trouble with the advanced ones for Litchi). Anyways, I personally feel the challenge mode in CS2 is easier than in CS1 (not saying it's a cakewalk, some decently tough stuff here and there). Just my opinion. =)

I might give a try attempting some of the 4 and later ones eventually then. I guess the mode is more like a test of my patience rather than my skill.

And BlazBlue is definitely one of the simpler fighters out there, so I'm sure with enough practice any combo could be possible without an arcade stick. It's gotta be easier that getting all hits with Akane's Extended Critical Heart. The one attack I've considered that is honestly impossible without one.

The set involving the repeated Houtenjin....not continuous but if it lands it adds to~ 9k worth

And my sig is Dies Irae Acta est Fabula...it's a freaking epic VN.

Could you (or anybody) fish out the exact clip (with timing of the clip in which the combo was executed)? Trying to rack my brains for a possible starter which leads to a 9K combo (with 50-ish meter to start). So far, I've come up with 6C CH in the corner into Jayoku (highly doubt it'll touch 9K without gold burst, never tried though) and FC Jayoku on Rachel in the corner (this is the most probable one but it's Rachel-specific. Even then it'll be touching high-end 8K but maybe breaking 9K?).

Well, this is what my brain at 10pm (in Singapore) is telling me right now. I could be missing out on other possibilities. In the mean time, I guess I'll slowly search for this clip. =)

Edit : Found the combo, starts at 5:44 of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvJ0iyVcQUI. It's a (fantastic) tutorial of Hazama split into 3 parts. Anyways, combo starts off 6C CH which is...unlikely. A more probable 9K combo which would be decently common would be corner 5C --> Jayoku (or FC Jayoku) on Rachel (but again, it's specific to her. Yes, I know the princess deserves better.)

So...there's a new match-up chart / list from the BBCS2 JP BBS. This is just a collection of opinions, just take it as that. I'll give my (noobish) opinions at the end. ^_^

Chart Goes In this Order:
Ragna, Jin, Noel, Tager, Taokaka, Rachel, Arakune, Litchi, Carl, Bang, Hakumen, Lambda, Tsubaki, Hazama, Mu, Makoto, Valkenhyn, Platinum

Note 1 : Yes, I know I suck at copy-pasting. If someone who isn't lazy (like me), would like to do awesome aligning and stuff, please feel free. <3

Note 2 : As mentioned above, this is merely a collection of opinions (after much presumable debating from JP BBS). Regardless if your fav character is rocking or not, take it with a grain of salt. =)

So, from this match-up chart...

Top guns are currently : Makoto (+9.0), Hazama (+8.0), Jin / Taokaka (+5.5), Valkenhayn (+4.0), Carl (+3.5), Noel (+3.0) and Rachel (+1.5).

Bottom five : Tager (-12.5), Bang (-5.5) and Platinum / Mu / Arakune (-4.5).

Ratio spread comparisons across the Blazblue series :

CS2: +9 (Makoto) to -12.5 (Tager)
CS: +13 (Litchi/Bang) to -12 (Tager)
CT: +18 (Rachel) to - 20 (Tager)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~
My (noobish) opinions (disregard this small section if you wish heh ) :
I'm somewhat surprised Hazama is rocking it out at S tier-ish (and high one at that!). I'm fairly pleased he's up there but there's just that bit of skepticism in me about his rankings. I still believe he's at a mid-high A tier kinda character but I guess time (and the big tournaments like SBO) will tell. ^_^
What truly raised my eyebrow was seeing Arakune waddling amongst the bottom five. I'm no Arakune main (and I frankly suck at playing him) but seeing his fever mode gives me the chills. I do understand his pre-curse game is lackluster but I expected him to be like -1.5ish, at worst. *shrugs*
I don't know if it's the numbers but Tager looks kinda sad. Well, at least he has a positive match-up against Noel (*gasp* I know). Anyways, happy to see Tsubaki-chan at even. Poor girl needed some love (and yay for Rachel too on that point). =)
I'm curious how Tager dropped despite gaining some significant buffs. I suppose it is because his favorite whipping girls (Tsubaki and Rachel) both got buffed along with him.
Honestly, other than Arakune and Mu being so low and Noel not being higher, I'm not really surprised at this list at all. I definitely expected the top three to be Makoto, Hazama, and Jin. Lambda is in a good spot as always. I guess the Japanese know how to deal with Arakune better.
Actually, Tager having a positive matchup is definitely the most surprising thing. He probably dropped because this system is apparently more offensive, with the IB nerf and all.
Carl, Hazama, and Taokaka are Lambda's worst... why am I not surprised?
I assume people know about BlazBlue CS2 Plus for PSVita. It will have graphics comparable to the console versions (though obviously not as high res) and with use the touch pad on the back for player assigned macros. Also, according to Siliconera but AFAIK not stated in any Japanese source, it will have 6 additional story mode scenarios that aren't in previous versions.
*rubs forehead* I may just get it since I do plan on nabbing a PS Vita. I'll like to see the new story mode scenarios and the arcade endings for the DLC characters (I believe CS2 on the PSP had said endings?). Since I didn't get CS2 on the PSP, I think I'll hold out for the PS Vita version.
On a completely different note, anybody can point me (PM is fine too) to a site selling some awesome BB t-shirts? =)
Siblings purchased a PS3. Yes, I am still kinda shocked, they do grow up fast.
As a consequence, I have bought BlazBlue CS and started to get spanked online by a close friend of us. I am totally scrubby and I have yet to find someone to main. So far Litchi is the funniest to play for me. Followed by Ragna and Tsubaki.
If anyone want my PSN handle feel free to pm me, I'll pm back. Just don't spread it like candy, I like to keep my circle of online acquaintances tight and know who the hell is smashing me over an online game. My past experience with online games of KoF98 taught me how it can be discouraging to meet chinese and koreans, and be curbstomped by them.
