What's going on here? In the first episode we saw Hakaze burst out of the barrel, didn't we?
She can't be a ghost. A ghost doesn't get hungry and eat fish. Didn't Samon say he wanted to keep Hakaze alive in case things got out of hands? How is she going to do anything if she just a pile of bones in a barrel? |

What if the skeleton in the barrel is really Aki's? We know her death was brutal but we don't know what was done to her. What if she were torn apart to serve as the body double of the "dead" Hakaze?

^ That's along the same lines I was thinking. However, it could be that Aki's life force was used to keep Hakaze alive in an alternate.
Of course, the ultimate crazy theory is that the Hakaze on the island is actually Aki, with Hakaze somehow in control of it. For example, kidnap Aki, replace her with a fake dead body, transplant Hakaze's essence into Aki, and dump the body on the island. Then again, as mentioned in the show, logic as we know it might be skewed.

Aika may have never existed. She may be a false memory implanted into both Mahiro and Yoshino and she could be the head mage of the Exodus tree cult or part of some cult that worships it. Magic is involved, anything can happen. Aika and Hakaze... both mages. Mahiro and Yoshino... could come from mage bloodlines as well. Something happened... some memory altering probably happened.
The hairpins on Yoshino may have a spell placed on them. Aika may be the head priestess of the Exodus Tree cult. We know the Genesis tree has its own followers. Why not the Exodus tree? Genesis tree cult went rogue. Who put them up to it? Aika may be a master of Chaos magic and she may indeed be able to cheat death, whereas it would be harder for Hakaze to do so. Those darn hairpins... something is up with those. |

More Aika is both <3 and :'( for me.
Well, Aika specifically mentions everything happens for a reason in that world? Well, that settles it, Aika and/or her death is involved in this Genesis vs Exodus war in some way, shape or form. And with her in the mix, tbqh I wasn't surprised that Hakaze is supposedly dead.

As much as I can't help but think Aika has a larger part to play in some way, I also can't help but think how beautiful it would be if her fate really was just to lay the events into motion as we're seeing it unfold in present time.

They Chekov's Gunned the fact something didn't quite add up, but I completely didn't see that twist coming. Though it was nice they explained why there was a massive hole in the mountain at the clan's village.
But if we assume that Hakaze is "dead in the current time frame", that means it's been greater than the 131 days she's been on the island. If Aika-chan was killed 11 months before, that puts Hakaze on the island around the same time that Aika-chan was murdered by one of the clan members (or before). Though it could be more like a "World Lines" concept, so could the Black Iron Syndrome actually ships those people to another World Line as well? Leaving them "dead" in one Line and "alive" in the other? It's always seemed like those that died to the Black Iron could be brought back. Or there could be two copies of Hakaze by some means. Which might be what actually caused all of this in the first place, making Samon & crew actually in some way "in the Right", but their methods have gone too far. Still, if Hakaze is dead and that is her body in the barrel (why is it still kept in the barrel? Obviously some magic there), then Samon has a way to resurrect Hakaze, in case of a breakdown of their plan. Which does explain how they'll, maybe, get Aika-chan back at series end (I imagine that'll come up at series end, if it's going to be 24+ episodes) So many possibilities, can't wait for ep 6! |

well this suddenly turned interesting , when both of your Female Leads turns out to be dead...
but are they really? ...well at least it explains one of my nagging thoughts > I mean a "princess" used to having magic, suddenly powerless and alone on a deserted island surviving for 131 days, with only a barrel and her current clothes, looking quite spiffy too... |

So does anyone else think that magician with the spear looks like Inspector Gadget?

Decent episode.
Hakaze nearly destroyed a mountain with a mouth piercing? What could she accomplish if she used an iPhone So episode ends with Samon picking up a skull from a barrel and Junichirou confirmed that he saw Hakaze's skull. Since it was already stated by Hakaze that reviving is impossible, looking forward to how they'll bring her to the Exodus tree.

I wonder what Samon means when he refers that the "Princess is still inside a barrel." Is he referring to Hakaze or another princess? Why is that a trump card?
If Hakaze really is dead, it doesn't seem to surprise Samon and co. that she is somehow helping the two guys go against them. Last edited by king12354; 2012-11-02 at 21:34. |
