So far the drawings for 4th stage isn't as good as 2nd and 3rd stage....
They look strange now! but the car designs are nice~

Nah, i like the new animation for the characters. I didn't really like 2nd stage's because the lines were so thick....3rd was the best. It was more subtle and they didnt have them weird tree-trunk necks. 4th is like a mix of the two...which is alright at times (ie. Takumi, Ryosuke, Tohru etc.) but other characters (like Itsuki) just look dumb.

If the 4th stage follows the manga it will be disappointing, it's basically the same 3 eps of talking and preparation and 1 and a half episode of racing like before, except takumi and keisuke will team up against their opponents.

I just want to see Bunta in action in his STI. I'm assuming he'll race some point in the anime, since he is shown in the opening.

But all the characters in 4th stage looks dumb...in a different way as a matter of fact...its true...observe carefully...

I just watched Ep 2 of the 4th stage and I have one thing to note (other than it was a great ep execpt for one minor thing).

Spoiler:

I have seen so many crashes in my line of work it isn't funny, including cars rolling. The red MX-5 would have flipped about 8 to 9 times before stopping, and the roof would have crushed down. He would have not walked away from the crash. The ambo's would have had to be called. Of the crashes I have seen, they have been lucky to walk away with there lives, and so would have he. He would have been in hospitial for at least a month or more. It just seems a tad weird that for a show that has so much realisim they screwed the crash up big time.

May be the rear suspension arm broke, when his car rolled. But Gutter Drift v.3 was the best :fingers:

yes i doubt bunta would race, he's to cars as the dolli lama is um to wisdom(so it was a bad acronym sue me) anyways the point is you don't see the doli lama racing around in his wrx sti do you? He only makes special guest appearances to represent the inner mandate of takumi's soul. When bunta dies takumi will be number one..to manage his own tofu shop. hows that for 4am logic? sleep must get sleep now

At the rate that the anime is following the manga, I can't see too many episodes before catching up. Definitely not 26. More like 12 or 13.

Wahahaha I can see the similarities between Bunta-Takumi and Prince of Tennis' Nanjirou-Ryoma!

He does race Bunta's WRX in the manga. While Takumi was doing one of his tofu runs, Bunta takes the new car out for a spin after hearing how great Takumi is from one of his friends. Of course Bunta lays the spanking on him. Takumi doesn't know its Bunta that is driving the car until later on when Bunta shows him the new car.

That might not be true, not that I'm right, but hear me out...

As the MX-5 (Miata) was going over the gutter, the car started to grind the pavement, thus slowing it down dramatically (due to physics)...and I'm pretty sure they have a physics engine made for the cars in Initial D, cuz it would be really hard making the cars feel like they are moving. So if there is a physics engine for the cars, thats how it would flip, but the outcome would be different becuz the cars dont have collision detection (damage).

And yes I have been working with programs such as 3D Studio Max and Maya to know this...

That race must've been during the second stage. I watched the anime a long time ago and I don't remember everything that happen from 1st-3rd stage.

really glad that the 4th stage is now being subbed. Havent watched any of it yet though, I'll wait till they release a couple more eps...
