Damn, this is only the spoiler and yet I still can't get over how crazy this chapter was! I wonder if this means that now it'll be Toriko's turn to take on the psycho granny.....

BTW, since it was pointed out that the golem was basically like a chimera, I wonder if that means he even has Nitro DNA? If so, then Toriko's display this chapter was a lot more impressive than I thought considering how troublesome those particular creatures can be.....

You know, at this point I pretty much wouldn't be surprised at all if Toriko manages to upgrade his kugi punch to infinity-ren level by the end of the series.

I dunno, part of the appeal of Toriko is how emotional he can work up. Without Anger/Rage, it can get a but boring and that is just one of the 7 sin. Get rid of all 7 and he will be like Father from FMA lol.

Naw, he still feels anger, but instead of letting it out in his explosive style, he's just keeping it in mind without messing his combat form. This will definitely come in handy in his inevitable rematches with Tommyrod and Stajun...

From his lackluster character introduction, I never would have guessed that he had enough skill as a chef to form a pair with such a powerful character.

I think from his introduction we saw that he had as much potential as Komatsu and the Bishokukai saw it.

Well, his initial exposure was like... I don't know, one chapter? Then the next time he bothers showing up, he's suddenly Komatsu's official rival.

I won't deny that his skills as a chef equaled or even surpassed that of Komatsu, but Ootake's introduction chapter could have just as easily been interpreted as a device to highlight certain aspects of Komatsu's character. I just felt that Take's character exposure just wasn't enough to establish him as a rival character to Komatsu, so this development was a bit unexpected for me.

In other news, why does this series have such awesome villains? First, we got Tommyrod and Grinpatch. Now, we have old lady Chiyo. The way I see it, manga-ka has way too much fun coming up with these characters.

^As far as Ootake's rivalry with Komatsu goes, I think Shimabukuro is planning a 3-way between Komatsu and his two old friends (remember, he also mentioned a "Ume-chan" during the chapter where Ootake was introduced). And while I do agree that it's kind odd that Ootake went from a greedy, money-grubbing cook to being the partner of the Bishokukai's master, I still feel that in some ways it's fitting since Komatsu's partnered with the guy who seeks "God".....

Oh, and as far as the other friend "Ume" goes, I'm sorta starting to think that he may belong to that third mystery faction we learned about not too long ago; the one that dark chef Joa was a part of (hell, for all we know, Ume probably IS Joa). And seeing as their target was Acacia's notebook, it's clear that those guys will soon become a huge threat themselves eventually....

It looks like Chin gets into a further pinch during his fight with Chiyo, and Toriko takes on the Golem. Chin notes that both Toriko and Komatsu are the first people's names he remembered since Chiyo, which means that they're worthy disciples of Food Honor. Meanwhile, the hybrid beast attacks Toriko, who still remains calm despite his hair getting cut down to its original length. And then..... well, I'll let these speak for themselves: Spoiler: EPIC. BTW, after that last kugi punch Toriko notes that he wasn't sure how many hits that was, but according to kewl0210's translation he had counted 33. And yet despite that, Toriko says that he STILL feels he can score more hits than that. insane....!!! At the end, Chiyo puts on her best Livebearer impression as she delivers yet another fatal blow to her old comrade Chin..... Damn, this is only the spoiler and yet I still can't get over how crazy this chapter was! I wonder if this means that now it'll be Toriko's turn to take on the psycho granny.....

Ham-sliced golem hand was awesome.

Spoiler for chap 190: Chiyo plants yet another fatal injury on Chin, which serves to piss off Toriko, despite his earlier words about being calm. He takes on the evil chef himself, and manages to put up a good fight against her, breaking one of her knives. However, before the battle gets even more serious, it gets interrupted by the appearance of a gigantic, grotesque flying fish, which is being ridden by the person who Ootake formed a combo with: Spoiler: The head of the Bishokukai, Midora.....!!!!! ....Damn. Now I have to eat my earlier words about Midora not being his partner. But geez, did he really gain that much cooking experience so quickly in the Gourmet World!? Either way, looks like Toriko's screwed now that the big boss himself has appeared.....
