Don't forget Ferdinand and JagdTiger, they may slow, turretless, but Ferdinand has 88mm L/70 and JagdTiger has 128mm L/55. They are dangerous in long range, especially, the 128mm can shred the King Tiger easily. It's mean Black Forest use most strongest monsters (they don't have Maus yet ) to defeat Oorai.

If they can keep it running, the Tiger (P) is Oarai's ace in this fight, having the best chances both of being able to take out what it hits, and of withstanding what hits it. It's not invulnerable, and its mechanical failures are what led to it being passed up in favor of the Tiger I back when they were in prototype. It could be argued that anything on Black Forest's team is better than it, but it could also take out nearly anything they've got, and withstand more of their fire than anyone else can.

What it can't do is take on Maho's Tiger 2 from the front.

These were later converted into Ferdinand and the Elephant, which one of each could be seen in Episode 10.

Or, for that matter, take on either of those. They've got 200 mm of armor: the Tiger II, the Jagdpanther, and the Jagdtiger could get through that, but nothing else. And while I'm mentioning it, the Jagdtiger is also off-limits. 250 mm armor.

Well, that's an interesting question. See, they've attracted a lot of attention: a relatively unknown school has come out of nowhere and overcome major names to challenge the champions in the national senshado tournament. Even if they lose, a good showing here may still be able to get them the kind of recognition they need. Winning in and of itself isn't necessarily the only way to get what they want.

The only real difference it has to Maho's own Tiger is the placement of the gun -- front rather than the middle, which gives it better gun depression -- as well as thicker frontal armor (200 mm, if I remember right), but aside from possibly the engine it's functionally the same.

JagdTiger has 250mm at upper hull's front, while the lower hull use same chassis of King Tiger, 88mm L/56 can penetrate KT and JT's lower hull where only 100mm at close to medium range.

Not exactly... Maho's is a Tiger II. Better engine, better gun (hits harder, further, more accurate, better penetration), more armor. While I am not an expert, and the experts can and do argue, the Tiger IIs are considered by many to be among the most powerful (if not THE most powerful) and dangerous tanks of the war.

Get a sponsor.

As far as I am aware, the French and Australian teams are likely just as if not worse at Senshado as the Oorai was. So why aren't they in danger despite not winning anything for ten years?

I believe most of them had sponsors. Oorai, unlike the other schools, did not have a theme. And this made them less attractive to sponsorship. If they can "sell out" by having a sponsor, they would survive like everyone else.

Because KTs were produced in bad condition, most of their armor is not as good as Tiger I. Also many captured KTs and were tested by Soviet, reported the transmission and suspension broke down very frequently and the engine was prone to overheating and consequential failure.

The engine may still be an issue, but I suspect we can't count on the armor still suffering. Soft and/or brittle metal was due to rushed production and wartime budget contstraints, as well as the war cutting off access to supplies. But this is senshado. I think they will be able to justify repairing and rebuilding their armor to specifications. It wouldn't technically be upgrading it in any way, just making the armor out of the sort of steel that it should and would have been made out of in the first place.

Does Maho switch tanks later? At about 19:48-50 she is in the commander's hatch of a Tiger I.

Was she? I've done research since the show started, but I admit I still mostly can't recognize these tanks on sight. Folks here said she was in the Konigstiger, which I know is the Tiger II, and I've been going with that.

Maho is in the Tiger, marked 212, which also serves as Black Forest's Flag Tank. It's Erika who's in the Tiger II, as shown by scenes alternating between her and the Tiger II, especially in that last shot against the Chi-Nu.
