Just to clarify, they're the licensed streamers for the anime, i.e. they are legally streaming the show on the internet.
The translator (me), is actually hired by the Japanese side of things for this show.

Oh, that's what you're doing now. I'm trying to think though, have we met before? Perhaps sometime during my translator tenure (2006-2007). I remember seeing your name somewhere, but it hasn't brightened up yet...
Just a Q though, is it easier than in a fansub group? I just hated the way my editors ruined everything I did, which was worse for me than the group because it's always the translators who get the blame from viewers for bad tl's instead of the real people at fault. |

For this show I don't use an editor. It would probably help polish things a bit, but compared to a more complex show, it's really not worth the money. And you can't get a good editor for the going rates lately anyway, unless you hire actual fansub groups. As for how easy it is, well, it sure wasn't easy a year ago, but after working closely with TV Tokyo medianet for many months the system runs quite smoothly now. I get decolorized, watermarked raws, plus scans of the scripts, over a secure ftp somewhere between 1 week and 2 days before airing, translate into an .ass script, and send it off to Crunchyroll. Sometimes there are approval steps especially for name spellings, etc. Same system for Fairy Tail and Tegami Bachi (when it was airing).

Started watching Heroman, and I gotta say, the animation is just gorgeous, that's Bones for ya (who really can't wait for DtB gaiden eps).
Being a fan of american fiction as well, I couldn't resist wanting to check out Ultimo. When I first read it, it was, well, a bit hard to to keep up with. Checking Heroman out, this feels like a definate step up from Ultimo. Seems the anime and manga are in different directions too, but I'm gonna continue with the anime.a Also wanted to add, anyway to know the title of the song to the trailer pv of Heroman? Apparently, there doesn't seem to be an identified title/artist from video comments and forums. I'd be nice to know. Last edited by Auron Requies; 2010-05-26 at 10:29. |

Can't find that magazine scan anywhere ;_;
I only saw the preview pic... Joey looks even more girly than ever. Good thing they're not showing the front of that incredibly tight short, the illusion is still intact... As for episode 9, I thought it was pretty disappointing. I expected something a little more intense from the Rageman scene, but I didn't feel anything at all, partly due to the total lack of music during that part. Also, the constant reuse of that "Heroman attack/Blast" animation is starting to annoy me. I could stand it when it was a pink loli pulling a gun out of her body, but not this, BONES. Now that those ugly Skruggs are out of the picture (maybe not?), things might start to get more interesting. Still waiting for that guitar girl to show up, and for Stan Lee to finally get some damn coffee.

Ehh~ I want to see Rina. And for once, I wish she would change her outfit... ( T_T)
It seems a big, clear scan hasn't appeared yet. Here is where I saw it: http://yunakiti.blog79.fc2.com/blog-entry-5321.html

Really good episode this week, who could the new enemies be? I have a feeling it's going to have something to do with Nick's family as his fathers quite rich and more than likely powerful. Should be interesting how it's all going to pan out. |

Well I was one off about them finishing the arc off at 8. It looks like the next arc is the NSA/CIA one with the government possibly having the alien tech leading up to a space arc. To my surprise I've really enjoyed the past couple of episodes and it seems that this arc wasn't a complete waste. Now lets see if the writing team can step up.
The music also has really been outstanding in the show(other than the god awful OP). Hopefully they switch to a new OP with the song that was used in the early Heroman PV and in this episode too. On that matter, anybody know the name or artist of the song? |
