I have just watched this episode.

I love this series very much. I watched every episode when it comes out. And when coalguys started to lag behind, I even watched raw...

I got the episode on Tuesday, skimmed through it, and found that... oh gosh, it's got to be the climax. Then I decided I would wait until Friday night when I'm truly free to enjoy this...

I watched it. I enjoyed it. It's a very good episode. I wished it was longer. I didn't want it to end there. But somehow I just don't feel that it's perfect. Perhaps I was expecting too much?

I then re-watched the 2nd half of S1 EP12. It was perfect. Perfect timing, perfect execution. And I love the repeated scene from EP1.

Perhaps I'm just thinking too much. Thanks kyoani.

Spoiler for tsundere:

I was bracing for an emotional last episode, but I'm glad to be surprised to see the waterworks bumped a few episodes earlier.

Same here.

I'm watching K-On! for its slice-of-life comedy, not for the emotional story that makes me teary ...
But it's totally OK for once in a while though ...

still, 10/10 from me for this ep ...

If I were to rank the newest episodes...
18 > 19 > 20

I don't know why, since I consider myself a K-On enthusiast, but from where I stand, episode 20 is meh.

I was actually shaking the whole episode. Was I just cold, or was it because I was nervous for the girls? It sounds stupid, but I feel like it's the latter. I was nervous for them, but it still didnt really meet my expectations... Yui-emceeing dragged out a little too long, and they made a few too many mistakes (Bang the guitar everywhere, why don't you).

Waterworks scene at the end, sure, heartwarming, but it feels off when I think that K-on's supposed to be a comedy. I haven't rewatched it yet, so my thoughts might change...

EDIT:

Wow, This episode just made me feel so good inside!

The "Graduation Sadness" theme just never gets old, and when Kyoani does it, the emotions didn't feel forced or overdone, it all felt in place. Azusa being her usual level-headed self, not crying and comforting the rest with a smile, Mio breaking down before the rest (kinda expected), Ritsu trying to hold back her tears and look unfazed, all of it just felt so natural and believable for their characters.

I appreciated the concert scene; it was dragged out by Yui's MC, but it was just something she would naturally do on stage. All those extra, awkward moments are things that would happen in real life, by real people in that situation. It felt like I as watching a real group of people performing and having the best time of their life, and that was what made it so special.

I know this is supposed to be a series of simple light-hearted comedy, but episode 20 just hit the spot. If you look past all the moe elements, k-on is a gem of story telling. 10/10

From the song composer Bice's postmortem song Gohan wa Okazu to U&I to the graduation blues and the amazingly done crying scene, that left me in tears.

Beautiful episode. IMO one of THE episodes that can stand on its own and represent K-On. Beautiful.

I did. Saw it after watching it a second time. People in the video comments say it's because she can't pick that fast with just her fingers.

Whatever the reason is, I think it's a nice detail they threw in there.

The episode was even sadder since I (and most people) began the series because of it's comedy, music, slice-of-life genre... So shocking that it can pull my heart like this.
