One's a story about how females are the only ones who can pilot while males get the short end of the stick bar one guy. The other's about an alien invasion fought by Loli's wearing swimsuits. What happened to the straightforward genocides, racism, and wars we used to have in Robot genres?

Well, so far, most of the newer one is lighthearted.

Older anime however are mostly serious.
